Loss of pigmentation in nipple
I have recently noticed that on the edge of one of my nipples I have lost pigmentation. There is a 1cm rim around 1 half of my left nipple which is the same colour as the surrounding skin and it also doesnt react to temp changes either. I am guessing I have some nerve damage in this area and I did have my nipples moved so I know its one of the risks. It doesnt really bother me as its not that noticeable and its not like I have my nips out every mins but I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this??

What has your surgeon said? I know you are getting a re op but will you get this sensation back? Have you seen her about this problem yet or rang the clinic? x
Re: Loss of pigmentation in nipple
It can take up to a year to come back and its one of the main complications. There is nothing you can so to get feeling back, if the nerves are damaged that it that. I had a lot of work done as I had a full uplift 400g of skin removed, nipples moved and implants so my risks of this happening were much higher

I've not experienced it myself, but I know others have defiantly experienced the same thing. I know it's quite normal, but I don't know anymore than that to be honest.
Re: Loss of pigmentation in nipple
As the areola stretches through healing often it can distort the shape a little and look like loss of pigmentation, but its not loss of pigmentation hun. Nothing in the surgery during an uplift would cause that, its just the areola healing in a shape that's not perfectly circular and the scar tissue heals to a colour the same as your skin tone.
If it bothers you you can always have the missing parts tattooed in to create the illusion of it being perfect if you wanted to. Xx
Numbness right now isn't something I'd be concerned about this early in your recovery babe. I can take a year or more for all sensation to return so there's plenty of time yet. Xx

Yeah they have stretched a bit cos when I look at my first pics and now my areolas are bigger then they were immediately post op and thankfully they look better now as I thought they were way too small to start with so you are prob right about the scar tissue etc. It doesnt bother me enough to get it tattooed though!

Its weird though cos you can see the scar all the way around and then just this little piece which used to be the same colour as my nipple which has just been fading and fading over time so I'm not sure that its a simple as just scarring??

Re: Loss of pigmentation in nipple
Unless ou actually have a skin problem that can cause pigmentation hun, it will be to do with the scarring, as the scar continues to break down and flatten out you'll see for yourself hun  x
