Freaking outttt!
Ok, so I think I'm at that point where I start to freak out about my surgery, It's on wednesday (ahhhh!!) and whilst I'm really excited, I'm also a bag of nerves and my head keeps racing!
I also just wondered the approx time most people took off work etc?
And how soon do you start to feel like yourself again? I'm at university and going home to recover after my op but wondering when to head back to lectures etc
I walk in to campus so don't need to drive or anything.
I go to the gym quite a lot too and I know I won't be able to exercise properly for a while, but how long will it be till i can walk on the treadmill etc?
sorry for all the questions,
thaaanks :)

Re: Freaking outttt!
Hi Smile! I posted the same thing a few days before my surgery, with the same title!
I think the average time off work is about a week at least, I started to feel better toward the middle of the second week. Not sure about walking on the treadmill but I was advised no exercise for 6 weeks then to build up gently but I was also advised to get up and move about, go out for light walking etc. You go stir crazy in the house so just a walk to the shops or out for a stroll is a MUST! Plus I think you heal better than just laying in bed/on couch the full time.xx

Re: Freaking outttt!
A week off is the general advise, but for some it does take up to two weeks before you're back to normality..
I agree with Peachy and getting up and making yourself mobile as soon as you're able, it really does help your healing. But that's not to say you should push yourself, so treadmills probably aren't the best idea.
Listening to your body and starting with gentle walks building up the pace and distance as you get stronger and getting plenty of fresh air is the best way to go hun. Take every day of your recovery a day at a time starting with baby steps..
I hear you about the nerves. My op is tomorrow and and my nerves kicked in a couple of days ago. It's all normal hun and you're going to be just fine. You'll be we'll taken care of and Wednesday evening you'll be looking down at your new boobs wondering what the heck you were worried about.
Try reading some of the surgery stories some of the girls have written hun. They really help to get some of that excitement back! Xxx

No answers as I had a more in depth surgery than you, but wanted to say good luck! we all freak out and have highs and lows before surgery, its so natural!
You wont be able to remember what the fear was when u are looking at your gorgeous new boobs! Even with any recovery or pain u might have.
