Im FREAKING OUT!
OK so i just had my BA yesterday and i was told not to lift anything but while my husband was in the shower my 1year old daughter fell over in her crib and bumped her lip so my first reaction was to go pick her up to check her out and see if she was okay.
SO i broke the rules and picked her up and almost immediately after my right boob started to have lots of pain.. i cant move my right arm as much as my move my left and now im freaking out that i ruined my new boobs and im going to bottom out or something crazy like that is going to happen.
My question for u all is do u think lifting her could have damaged something or is it just my muscles being sore. ive goggled this and have found no helpful answers so i hope i can get some info from u ladys..
Thanks, Aimee

Re: Im FREAKING OUT!
firstly congrats on your BA hun, i really wouldnt worry our bodies are very resiliant and im guessing as you had unders its just the muscle, it was probable trying to heal itself and you have probable just put it back a day in the healing proccess
Just try and rest up as much as you can, if you are unsure and still worried give your clinic a call or message one of the surgeons on here.

Re: Im FREAKING OUT!
Hey hun,
I agree with everything Sharon said. You prob just pulled the muscle a bit. I highly doubt you'll have caused any major damage to the new boobies,
I still get pain now, for example, I twisted my arm round up behind me in the shower last night to put the shower head back up and I felt the muscle and stitches pull quite painfully so there's alot of healing still to be had hun.
You only had your BA yesterday, so I imagine it was a 'warning' pain to let you know to stop what you were doing. Try not to worry and rest up x

Yes you are probably fine but now you REALLY NEED TO REST and try not to stretch arms or pick anything up for the rest of the day, just keep your eye on your dressings as i did a bit too much too soon after mine and had a bit of weeping through the dressing IT WAS all fine tho but just check it out.
Happy healing x x

I agree with all the ladies, just for some more reasurrance though, my PS's assistant told me that it takes quite a bit of trauma to do anything..she told me there was a lady short of a week after her surgery that got into a car accident and the air bag got her good, she was just fine :)

Re: Im FREAKING OUT!
Let me second this! I Googled after my fall down the stairs and found NOTHING helpful. Mr JM on this forum and my own surgeon said I was fine - they want us to do as well as we CAN during the healing process but one incident, or forgetting not to reach into the cupboard, or whatever, won't derail the whole process sweetie! It's like doing well on a diet for three weeks and then eating 10 cookies. It won't undo everything. It's the overall consistency they are looking for.
Relax, take it EASY now. You are a very good Mommy, by the way.

Re: Im FREAKING OUT!
Awwww you'll be fine sweetness, most of us have to learn a lesson the hard way - LISTEN TO YOUR SURGEONS ADVICE! lol
Its difficult with little ones as naturally and instinctively you will 'want' to pick up your child, but sweetness as you now know, IT HURTS! This is your bodys way of telling you you're not ready for any picking up of children yet, so fight those instincts!
You really must take it easy hun, you might feel like your breast aches now for a while, don't worry it will get better, but sweetness, as much as you're gonna want to pick up your child. don't. To get the very best from your recovery you do need to follow the advice given by your surgeon.
Sending big hugs for you xx

Re: Im FREAKING OUT!
Aw sweetie
I done the very same with my boobs but 2 weeks post op. I pulled my stitches and OMG it hurt sooo much, so I dread to think how your feeling 1 day post-op
I really would not lift at the very least for the 1st 2-3 weeks and you really need to do this.........if you keep lifting so early on your not going to give your body chance to heal, which will only make things harder for you as the healing time will take even longer then it should do.
I Know its hard as I have 4 children aged 1, 5, 8, 8 and althou I had my parents and hubby around in the 1st 2 weeks there were times where like you my children hurt themselfs and need a hug ect but I had to just call the hubby and calm them untill they could help me.
Its just 2-3 weeks of no lifting (even then id take thing careful as you can still pull the stiches)
