Freaking out
Surgery was a week ago, and right now, I am totally freaking out.
I started out with really long floppy boobs with nipples that pointed down. They turned like this after I had one kid. They were probably about a small d, but it was hard to tell, because bra sizes tend to be different.
I told the surgeon that I was happy with the size that I looked while I had my bra on. The problem was that I did not like how the boobs hung without the bra on. I could not wear anything strapless, because they were so saggy. I told the surgeon that I mostly wanted the benefits that a lift would provide.
He said that I would want an implant in addition to the lift so that I could have a nice "shape." I asked him the range of implant that he would suggest and he suggested 375 to 450 cc silicone. I went with the smallest one, because I had major fear, which I expressed to him (even on the day of surgery) of being big busted. I definitely did not want to be any bigger than I already was. He convinced me that since he was taking tissue out (during the full lift) that he had to put some back to maintain the size. . . sounds right.
After surgery, I feel like these boobs are humungous! They are so tight and look hugely engorged like I am breast feeding or something! I am so embarrassed! I am like crying as I type this because I just can't believe how big they seem.
The surgeon told me today at my one-week post-op appointment that he removed 100 of my tissue. I was so upset, because if he removed 100 and added 375 (OMG!) how the heck can he reason that I will be the same size post-op if he took off so much less than he added.

Re: Freaking out
Miranda, try not to get too freaked out, you are one week post and lots of changes to come, get some tea and read through here at some old posts, its not unusual for them to feel massive even one week post, I thought mine were going to pop and seemed day 4, 5 & 6 they just got bigger and bigger, I actually wished then I had smaller implant, but they settled down again, I didn't have a uplift, but lots of girls on here have and they will be along to reassure you am certain,
please try not to get so upset, its very very early days, and uplift is quite major op, who was your surgeon out of interest..
hope this helps hun........ x

[moved]
Welcome to the forum Miranda :wavey:
I moved your post to the breast aug section of the forum so members can offer you some support here hun, the 'say hello' section is just to welcome you babe and you wouldn't have gotten the responses you need in there.
I had an uplift and implants Miranda, at first after your surgery, you're swollen, your implants are sat high on your chest, feeling almost under your chin! and they're hard and swollen - you're uncomfortable and the GA sometimes effects us and causes the post-op blues, making us tearful and moody with no control over our emotions.
You're 8 days post-op hun which is very early in your recovery, your breasts still need time for the swelling to subside and for them to drop into place, just because the pain generally starts to ease up after about a week this doesn't mean the changes to your breasts have stopped, you have so many changes to come which can take months before you see the final results hunni.
Give yourself some time babe, spend some time with us, read through the forum, ask as many questions as you like, you've found a wonderful group of ladies here who will offer you all the support you need hun.
Big hug for you

Re: Freaking out
Hello Miranda welcome to the forum hun.
I also had an uplift with 240cc implants, and although mine were smaller than yours they sat so high on my chest, in the beginning I was feaked out about what they were going to look like. Just like Cookie has said they drop down, the swelling subsides and they start to look more natural. Just give it some time hun.
Take care. xx

Re: Freaking out
Hi and
I was the same, mine were very high, hard and cone like at the beginning, it's a bit scary but trust me once the swelling goes down the boobies settle and fall into a more natural position.
If I've learnt anything on this forum it's to give our boobies time, there are lots of changes to come yet, sending you hugs hun

Re: Freaking out
I felt like this too and had to see the nurse because I made myself ill with worry (couldnt sleep or eat!) I felt like a freaky porn star BUT, the swelling went and they gradually began to look right.
Please dont worry yourself why dont you ask the clinic for reassurance? -it helped me (mind you I didnt have this wonderful forum then)

Re: Freaking out
I couldn't agree more with what the girls have said, your boobs will look and feel quite alien to you at the moment and quite a few of us are affected by the GA makeing our emotions all over the place. It will take some time for you to adjust to your new boobies and also for your boobies to heal and drop into a more natural look.
Re: Freaking out
They just feel so huge. My dr was Rose in Orem, Utah. I think he is great, but now I am starting to wonder if he actually listened to me when I said that I didn't want my boobs to be bigger, and that the only reason for the implant was to replace the amount of tissue that was taken out (from the lift) and to give my boobs a more solid shape. I sure hope you guys are right. I don't think I can live with boobs this huge and engorged for much longer. I didn't want bigger matronly boobs that look like I'm breast feeding. I wanted to improve the shape. :-( I am afraid that with each day that passes by, my boobs are stretching around these implants, and that if I do end up having the 375s removed for a smaller implant, that I will have to have ANOTHER lift, because without the 375 implant my boobs will be saggy. SO SAD. Thanks for the love guys. This is so hard and I just can't stop crying!
Before the implants and the lift, I wore a 32/34 large C/small D. My size was great . . . after I got the boobs rolled up and crammed into the bra (this statement is kind of sarcastic and kind of true). I think he lifted the nipples by about 2 inches. I just can't understand how I am going to end up about the same size when he put in implants that are 4 times the mass of the tissue he removed.

Re: Freaking out
I would have thought in considering what implant size to put in he would have had to choose an implant that had the width of your breast, maybe the smaller size implant would have been too small in width for you. Therefore giving you a two boobed appearence with a smaller implant.
Re: Freaking out
I would ask him Miranda. get him to explain why he chose the size he did and how it will look further down the line. Like misf1 said, I expect it is to do with your breast diameter as well. When you have tissue to fill they have to give you a big enough implant or you get the 'tennis ball in a sock look'!! Not good! I would give him a ring and see if he can reassure you . But your boobs will soften, drop and change, honestly. I only know that from the brilliant ladies on this forum who share their experiences, so stay with us. xxx

Re: Freaking out
Hi loely,
how are you feeling about things now?
Just to add to what the other girls have said... the way they look now is in no way a reflection of how they'll look in a month, two months, six months, a year, two years...
With breast-fed boobs (you get what I mean!) a lot of volume is lost, and the skin is stretched. So he'd need to replace not only to lost volume of breastfeeding, the lost volume of the lift and also tighten the skin.
these three things combined may make you think you're going to end up huge, but give it a bit of time for them to settle and see ehat you think. Even if you were to have revision surgery, and (good) surgeon will tell you you should wait at least six months.
xx

Re: Freaking out
I just wanted you guys to know that the swelling has gone down ALOT and I am feeling much much better. They are still a little bigger than I would like still, but I am actually liking my boobs and feeling ok about everything. Thank goodness. Wow. That was a rocky 3 week though!

Must of missed this first time round ....?!
Good to hear that you and the new girls are getting along much better now, it's normal to not like them at first, they can take a good while to settle down and soften up.
It really is a patience thing this booby lark !! xx
