1 week post op app today scared!!
Im 1 week post op and i am petrefied to go to my appointment to have my bandages removed for a couple of reasons one being there stuck like glue and wrapped all the way around my boobies and my boobs are still really tender to the touch and dont want anyone to hurt me, and i dont think the nurses in this private hospital have much time for ba patients, i could be wrong but got that impression on my surgery day like i was the one putting myself through this op and i should just get on with it, maybe MyBreast have there own nurses for the post op apps but i doubt it

Is your appointment at the hospital hun or at the surgeons clinic? I know mybreast surgeons do have their own nurses working alongside them. If they make you feel that way today then tell them straight, or put a complaint in. It's probably unlikely you'll get the same nurses. Just let them know your really worried about it, its their role to care for you & a service YOU have paid for nevermind why.

Oh hunny, please don't worry .. I was excited to be getting all the bandage tape off, I was wrapped like a mummy!
They will be gentle and just let them know at the beginning of the appointment that your a bit nervous and tender. Ask them , can you use an antiseptic wipe to get them off, ... That really does make it so much easier to get it off. Wipe and pull away, if they do it that way it shouldn't hurt sweety.
Good luck and let us know how you get on xxx

Its exciting to see them properly! Try to enjoy the experience. Hopefully you will have a specialist nurse. I see a cosmetic nurse who only deals with cosmetic surgery patients so I never feel judged so hopefully it will be the same for you.

You're going to be just fine getstripped.
I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the nurse in the hospital lovely but horrible nurses like that thankfully are few.
You won't have the same nurse in clinic that you did in hospital babe and in the unlikely event you do, you have the right to refuse she touch you and you see another nurse.
Thousands of ladies are bound in the tapes/bandages as you are hun and just as sensitive as you feel right now. It's the nurses job to make you as comfortable as possible and to remove your dressings with little discomfort.
We ALL have nurses who deal with hundreds of cosmetic procedures every week. Theyre very experienced at what they do babe. You really will be surprised at how careful the nurses are babe. Your nurse will little by little remove the dressings, using alcohol wipes to gently ease them away. It's really not bad at all gorgeous and you're getting yourself all upset about the unknown when it's going to be ok.... REALLY it's going to be ok
Sending big hugs sweetie xx

Awwww thank you so much girls, I was actually feeling realy queezy about it, if they use alcohol or anticeptic wipes to unstick them I should be ok, and hopefully I'll have a nicer nurse think the last one was a sister and she told me I couldint have the pre med to calm me down when the surgeon said I could xx

You're going to be fine hun. Put that nasty nurse out of your head. You won't be seeing her again lovely. The nurse will be super gentle with you and yes, the wipes make it easier.
So chin up sweetness and focus on the big reveal!!!!! Rather than something you have no need to be concerned about. It's all going to be OK. Xxx

Everything went fine today I'm really happy with them so far
Thank you everyone for your support! My other username for a different kind of site is Hollywooddreams because I specialise in hollywood waxing lol, and bye the way this nurse was lovely but strangly she never wore a uniform because she had come to work for a meeting that had been postponed an hour so she thought she would help because they were busy, weird eh

Re: 1 week post op app today scared!!
Just found this recent thread which has been reassuring.
I have my first post op appt with the nurse tomorrow (presumably to get my dressings off). Although I want to see what my wounds look like and I am desperate for a shower, but I am happy to leave my dressings alone as everything is nice, not sore, not leaking and not exposed!
Mostly, I am very, very, very anxious about the dressings coming off my nipples and also seeing what they look like. I had a nipple lift so I know they are not going to be looking very nice at all.... x
