Scared about day 2 post op
So my I have the option of scheduling my op on Nov. 9th or I have to wait until after Thanksgiving since they are booked solid til then. My son's bday is the Nov.10th and I'm wondering how bad is day 2 post op? I am having plenty of help for his bday and in the following days after surgery. To the mamas out there...do your boobies feel anything like they do when your milk comes in and they get engorged?? That was really painful but I was able to manage pretty well and that's without pain meds. Thoughts??

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
I would personally call day 2 post op the 11th (in your case). (th = surgery day, 10 = 1 day post op, etc.
The day after my surgery I was alright. A bit achy, and full of meds, really tired, etc. But it's kind of the day AFTER that you get that "day 2" pain. Usually because you're lacking sleep, you've been uncomfortable a bit longer, that kind of thing.
For me, the biggest thing was that I was just SO TIRED during that time. It was day 5 before I could make it through the day without a nap. I could sleep all day, AND all night (but then some girls can't sleep at all... )
If you're just trying to celebrate with him, you'll be ok. But if you're trying to host guests or something, it might be a bit much!

The place I'm having it is supplying the host and I'll have my mom and my husband there as well so I won't be too hands-on with anything. Thank you for your input:)

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
I had an EASY recovery - was driving on Day 4 and back to work that day. I would not have been able to do anything day 1 or day 2 post op though.
I needed to stay in bed. Good luck hun!!

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
Could you maybe try and re-schedule his party for the weekend after the 9th, that way its weekend and no-one has to work on the day and the day after. Also you'll have time to recover, or ever the weekend before, you can perhaps have some cake etc at home for him on his B-day and the big party afterwards. You'll be really tired and the GA really takes it out of you, everyone is different and I know that I was only able to feel up to anything by day 3, and even then I got tired real easy, I would nap a lot the first few days. Plus you'll be sore and will have minimum range of motion. It won't be much fun for you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
Hi , i'm day 2 today and to be honest its not really my boobies that are the problem (thet were MUCH more painful when i stopped breastfeeding and had mastitis) its my tummy and back. Without going into too much detail the painkillers and anaesthetic have caused constipation and i'm bloated right out (i look about 6 months pregnant) I have taken some laxative this morning but nothing as of yet in the bowel department :( was recommended senokot max which my bf is on his way home with now so hopefully might do the trick. I am also feeling very tired so maybe postponing party or op might be a better option 4 u xx good luckxx Incidently i am loving my boobies xxx

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
I think its different for different people . I was up and about from the moment i got home, I took my daughter to a birthday party 2 days post op and was ok just couldnt pick her up obviously or join in and play. i just felt sore bruised and a bit achey, described it to my other half like ive been punched in the boobs several times! It really does depend how you feel, I had mine over the muscle..i think if you have under muscle implants theyre meant to be more painful so i probably would take it easy if your having that!

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
Don't feel like that, having a child does not mean you have to give up everything you want. I think in reality this will make you a happier person and you'll feel so much better about the way you look. It will make you more confident, and this in turn will make you a better mother and wife. Its good for a child to see his/her mum as a confident, happy and content person. He'll have many more B-days where you'll be able to spoil him rotten, and besides, he'll have 2 celebrations. One on his B-day with you and your family, and one with all his friends, what kid would not enjoy that.

Re: Scared about day 2 post op
Lol funny "dead donkey" comment. Ok so I've breastfeed both my children so I've gone through the horrors of engorgement twice as well as the crippling pain of 2 c-sections, and I have to say, I'm more scared now to have a BA! Between the after-effects of GA and the PKs, maybe I'm not going to be able to pull off a bday party even if all I really have to do is make appearance:( Looks like I'll be postponing the big boobie day.
