Hiya, ladies I'm sure all is normal but this is why this forum is so fantastic as we can all come here for the reassurance we need and I honestly would be lost without you all.
Im 4days post op and 2 nights ago started to get this really bad burning stinging in only my right side. The sensation is that simular to the pain I got when breastfeeding my 3rd child. It's continues to come and go throughout the day but it got particularly bad at the same time again last night. It's also causing my right arm to be quite numb and pins and needle like which is worrying me more. My hubby is worried for me too. I have said its prob all the nerves and healing as they heal separately. I said I would post on here and hopefully get some feedback.
Has anyone else experienced simular or is this normal and I'm just being paranoid somethings not right.

heya hun... yes i believe its all your nerves coming back together and healing. i had this a few times when i was about 1week PO and it hurt like a beeeeach (lol) i had to take synthesized morphine to take the pain away instantly.. otherwise ice is another good thing to try if you havent already. Make sure you are keeping it easy too babe. You're soo early PO.
Just keep the meds up and it will pass babes. Just takes time but its not forever.
Some other lovely ladies will come along and expand on this too im sure.

Ahh thanks Tsmith, thought it was all normal but nice to hear from experience.
Yes I'm completely rested. My hubby has the whole week off and doing everything around the house and school runs etc. He's excellent I can't complain about him at all.
I'm almost out off the co-dydramol the doc gave me at hospital. What would any one suggest I should move on to?

You should be fine on just paracetamol now babe... If you find the nerves are causing you discomfort then popping some ice packs over the top of them or a bag of frozen veg will soon help to ease it Xx

No worries hun. We're here to help :)
Naaw thats great to hear. sounds like you have a wonderful hubby!! good for you!!.
Hmmm you could go back to your doc and get a re-prescription OR he will prescribe you with something else. I wouldnt try any medication without his go ahead though JUST to be sure babe. But normally paracetamol is an all rounder good pain-killer.

Thanks. I was fine the first 2 days and stopped the painkillers as had no pain until this weird sensation of burning and stinging and numbness started so just taking them for that but to be honest they're not doing anything for it so won't take anymore. I'm finding just holding my right boob at the mo is easing it a little. I've used a cool pack a couple of times too. Will just continue as hopefully it will pass sooner rather than later. X

I've got a m&s post op bra. But when I say hold its more just me touching where the pain is. Think it's more me as it seems to feel better if I touch where it hurts if you get me. Lol

Hi

Re pain meds:

My codeine didn't work and I was in lots of pain - went to GP and she gave me zapain which is a mixture of codeine 30mg and 500 mg paracetamol and one called dicofenac sodium 50mg.

They have been fantastic - much better than before, i also kept ice packs on almost constantly, if holdinh helps perhaps you could try a compression band, i hated mine to start with but now it feels really wierd without it and i feel like it holds them to me!

I keep dreaming that one of my boobs moves or comes away from my body !!!

Hope this may help and if in doubt call the hospital and talk to nurse xx

I had exactly the same thing in my right boob and I used to 'carry' it around in my hand cos it helped! It was worse around day 3-4 and it would throb and I would get a weird hot sensation it in if I moved around. It got less and less and by a week post op it was gone and then I got shooting pains instead! 4days post op pain. 869500

Oh and dont use a compression band unless instructed to do so.. they are usually for girls with unders and as you had overs they are not really used as they can push the implants down and cause them to bottom out xx

Thanks 5stonedown that's exactly what I'm doing.... Carring my boob in my hand. Kinda helps with the sting and burning pain. I want to go out for a little walk but I'm worried that it'll start and have to walk around holding myself which is prob not the best look.
I won't do anything re compression band until I'm instructed by nurse. But really appreciate all your feedback.
Thanks x

I'd perhaps not go for the walk, give it another couple of days when you are a bit stronger. xx

If you feel up to going out Shelly it will probably do you the world of good hun. Getting yourself up and mobile is the best tonic for you babe, it really does encourage your healing. Xx
