Hi ladies,

I had my op on Friday the 17th and my stomach is swollen. The right hand side of my stomach is REALLY painful. is that normal. It feels as if there is water there or something?
has anybody experienced this before?

Many thanks

Have you found your bowel movements are a lot less or non existant? If so this could be the reason for your pain. You may need some mild laxatives to get you going again.

Nemi my friend recently had BA and also got a swollen tummy, her surgeon said that it was just a reaction from the GA that can affect some people. she was fine within a week and the swelling had gone down. like misf1 said you should try some mild laxatives just to remind your bowels what there supposed to do x

Thanks you all its a great help. I think it must be a reaction to the GA. I am so swollen and it hurts to the touch. I am more relaxed now. Will take some laxatives as well to help with the bowl movements.
Thanks

thanks little Jen,

How are you feeling? are you still on pain killers? also where do you have pain?

I find that i can now sit better, but still lots of pain on my right breast. Also tummy really badly (as moaned before-sorry about that).

Do you feel like your breast are about to explode? my bra is so tight that its so strange...

Hi Nemi,

I am fantastic thank you and have managed without any pain medication. I just seem to be suffering with the huge tummy and feeling constantly full, like i've eaten a lead weight lol.
