Had my bandages off today.. Super exhausted. It was a hard day anyway cause had a fight with my mum, and then when my strapping came off, I dont know what I was expecting... but..

They just look like theyve been through so much, especially the left one, the nipple is completely unrecognisable as a nipple! Its purple and blistered and u cant see where it joins the boob.. :( nurse said because of the second operation, and that it would settle down in six weeks. But I dont even want it like that for six weeks! I could see my hubby also was shocked by it, and I dont wanna be repulsive...

The right one is looking better, but still the scars and bruising are worse than I would have imagined.. and I am so swollen on the sides that I cant even see the proper shape that much, and I couldnt fit into the sports bra I bought even though it was already a back size bigger than normal. Had to use extenders and go buy a new one tomorrow. That means I'm a 36 at the moment which I havent been since I was pregnant. I know its temporary but just makes me feel like a fat whale. :(

Im just being silly, these are all temp problems, I know within a month everything will be so much easier, I just wish I knew they would end up looking nice I suppose.

Plus is it normal that I cant push them together? I'm concerned I'll never have cleavage again!

In clothes I'm starting to look better, after losing the bloated tummy slowly slowly.. still a bit to go, and obviously no exercise doesnt help, but thats a plus-people do keep complimenting my new shape.

Grr...! I hate being self-pitying, this is such a positive thing, and I know Ive had two surgeries, it would be strange if they didnt look horrible-i suppose I just expected to love something about them!

You have been through so much and the reveal is always a shock with one surgery let alone two. Try not to be so hard on yourself, our bodies are marvellous things and will recover, it will take time but when done I am sure you will feel it was all worth it and be ecstatic at the results.
Stay positive and take care not to over do things, you waited a long time to have your new boobs, a bit longer and they will be just as you dreamed of. Xx

Aww hunny, you've been through so much with your operations, it's psychically and mentally a journey. You know all these things are temporary and just parti of the recovery. Each day you will feel better and stronger.
The first reveal can be a bit of a shock, remembering you're still very early post op it can be a bit not as expected as they are no where near the finished result and can look a bit battered and bruised!

Keeping a picturetrail is a great way of seeing all the positive changes that will happen over The next few days, weeks and eventually months.

Xx big hugs xx Hug

thank u so much everyone, youre all so lovely. I know its near the beginning of such a long journey. Also, nurse told me I needed to wait another week to shower which was a bit sad! Gonna have to attempt a hair wash with the hubbys help though!

Hehe, or why not book yourself in for a wash and blow dry at the local salon tomorrow? That way you will feel really pampered and the blow dry will last! X

The first reveal after an uplift/reduction is always the hardest sweetheart, it can look pretty gruesome at first like something out of a Frienkeinstein movie! But it does get better hun and you'll be amazed at just how quickly you heal. Hug

Feel free to read my diary if you'd like to Elizabeth, its called cookies journey, just type it into the search bar and it should come up if you want to read hun. I suffered a bleed after my surgery, not as bad as yours but i was very bruised too from the trauma on one side and my nipple was black early on in recovery and like you couldn't shower for two weeks either, it was a nightmare... But you manage babe. I just had shallow baths and had my daughter help me with washing my hair until I was able to get out and go to the salon babe. It might help you reading another's recovery gorgeous.

Hope you're feeling better soon Elizabeth. We're all here for you whenever you need us. Xx

Having a reduction is a big op hun, you have had a lot of skin and living tissue cut away and big blood vessels will have been re-routed or cortorised, this is a hige trauma on the body and as you had a second op your body has really been through the mill. Give it time and try not to worry about how they look now... give it a few weeks and I'm sure things will improve. I cant say whether I believe it works or not but you could try taking arnica for swelling and bruising. They sell it in boots or holland & barrett and its a homeopathic treatment. xx
