Ok so I've decided to have an uplift with my implants, I want them to be perfect (or as close as) and I think I may regret not having an uplift too. Buuuut.... Can anyone give me their opinion on whether it would be better to have both ops together or separate, I've been told (by friends) that I can have both done together, on the up side I will save money and obviously only have to go through surgery once, but I will have to have a small implant (wanted 525), and then obviously there is more pressure on the uplift scar so may not heal well, oooor I can have the implants in first (the bigger ones) then have the uplift 3 months later, but obviously it'll cost more and ill have to go through 2 ops, but on the up side there's more chance of the uplift scar healing well as the skin has had 3 months to stretch over the implant, and its really important to me that the scar is as minimal as possible. To be honest I'd much prefer to have them done in 1 op so I only have to go through it once and it's much cheaper, but I'm soo worried about having awful scars from the uplift, and I don't want to be wishing that they were bigger. Sorry for the long winded question but I'm so confused, any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance girls xx

I had mine done together and my surgeon would have let me go to 445cc. I have known girls have even bigger than this with an uplift but you are right it puts pressure on the scars and you can end up sagging quickly again and ruin your results. When u get an uplift u do have to be realistic, yes the scars are there and you may not be able to go huge but you will gain a better shape and overall improve the look of your breasts with this procedure. I dont know if anyone on here has has it done in 2 separate ops but I'm sure they will comment if they have. What I would say is dont get carried away with what you think u need before seeing a surgeon. Only a consultation will let you know what size you can accomodate as you may not be able to get a 525cc into your body regardless of the lift and only a surgeon can tell you whether you need a lift and what kind of lift you need as there are different types with different levels of scarring. Hope this helps x

There really is no right answer here. I've seen good and not so good results from both ways of doing the surgery hun... To be honest, I personally think its dependent of the surgeons skill and how they best feel comfortable doing the procedure.

Some surgeons like to do the procedure in one op, some two.

Do your homework lovely, focus on getting yourself the best surgeon possible to do the job for you. If you do this, checking all qualifications, checking their reviews and having consultations with a few surgeons of the same calibre before making this decision you'll do alright sweetness. Xx

If you need a BA and uplift it will cost about £6500 with MYA, I had 2 consults with them. I think they have had at least one new surgeon added now but I wasnt happy with the surgeons I saw there as they didnt seem as experienced with uplifts but that is just my opinion!!

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

I cannot stress this enough xx

An uplift is an incredibly technical operation to get right and scarring is inevitable xx however you can get a really good result if you do your research AND are really clear with your PS about what is important to you xx but you do need to accept that you will suffer from scarring xx

Be warned the bigger the implant + the weight of your natural breast tissue ALL puts tension on the incisions xx You are going to have scarring, there is no getting away from it therefore you need to make sure that your PS is aware that achieving a minimal amount is what is important to you xx

Make sure you ask about contingency plans regarding scarring if you are not happy with it after your operation as well  I wish I had because my scars are pretty horrific to be honest xx

Good luck on your journey, just remember - research, research, research

It's all within the aftercare package hun.

You need to go through after care with a fine tooth comb ensuring you have cover for every eventuality regarding your surgery. Xx

MYA don't generally have BAAPS registered surgeons working for them, so all the more reason for you to check qualifications of any surgeon you have a consultation hun. Be sure they are on a 'specialist register' at the very least for plastic surgery and also it would be beneficial especially for someone looking to have an uplift to check to see if they also specialise in reconstruction surgery also. If you have a look in the 'Breast Augmentation Information' section of the forum lovely, you'll find our consultation notebook which is filled with lots of great questions for you to ask of surgeon and clinic and you can print it out to take with you! xx
