Re: November Buddies
Hello Girls,
Had my BA yesterday around 9am. Was a day case. All booked for 375cc high profile anatomical unders. I had slight asymetry (which was never noticed by myself - only my surgeon and his tape measure lol). So there was a possibility I would have differing sizes.
Got there around 7.30 am. Was seen by a nurse and told id go around 8.30! Saw my anaesthetist around 8.15 - and OHHHHHHHDEAR. I knew him lol. He works at the hospital I work at, in my department. Cringe. But hey I knew I was safe. James came along and drew on me around 8.30 and said he would be about an hour. I told my mum and friend to walk into town & id be fine on my own (felt bad for them getting up so early and waiting around) They left and litterall 5mins later at around 8.45 they came to take me away :)
Well all went well apart from being allergic to a med they gave. I looked down after my op, I was led down in recovery and was like "What, have i had them done?!" The nurse said I had (they looked small from above! I asked what size as i thought maybe he couldnt 375cc in - She said 375cc (big sigh) Oh and 440cc in the left. (WHAT?!) lol. I was so shocked, but they looked even from above. Well I was only in recover for about 15mins after I woke because I was determined to get back to my room. I was feeling pretty comfortable actually and able to tie my own hair up.
I couldnt see my boobs properly & my mum and friend wouldnt let me get up to see in the mirror so I had them take a photo. Eeeee it was so amazing to see them! (I will make a album). Once I was getting in and out of bed I kept looking at them in the mirror hehe.
My surgeon came in (James Mcdiarmid) Said it all had gone really well & that he had used diff implants. & hes sure i'll get "perfect results". He suggested I dont wear a bra and leave the skin to act as a bra for now untill i see him at my next check, hes said to wear a sports bra if its not too tight fitting if i feel i need to.
I spent alot of the first few hours itching like crazy & feeling nauseous but after various meds and piriton I finally felt normal. Slightly bruised but good for what I expected. I asked my nurse if I had even had unders cus I was shocked - she brought the notes to the room and we tried to work it out, Drs writing is so hard to read lol. So in the end I had to email him - He replied pretty quick saying I had defo had unders and that I was a tough cookie (YAY!)
Well after sitting around for ages since 11.30 at 18.30 I finally went home. Car journey - pot holes are not my friend, nor are sharp bends. Im awake now in the small hours - not for pain but for what feels like forgetting to breathe when sleeping, scared myself a bit cause iv woken three times now with numb fingers and feeling as though iv forgotten to breathe whilst asleep.
xoxoxo

Congrats Cazzy! Glad your feeling OK, I'm sure you haven't forgotten to breath, probably just the weight of them on your chest making you feel breathless. Did you tell your work about your procedure lol, how cringey that he was your anesthetist! xx

Re: November Buddies
Im sure it was lack of oxygen cause my hands and fingers had gone completely numb oops.
No I didnt tell work. I havent told many people. To be honest I doubt he'd of recognised me but Im sure the nurse told him my profession before hand (as thats usually what happens when medical professionals look after each other - its a bit like oooerr just so you know shes a nurse or whatever) and after he seen me she came back in to ask where I worked as he said i was familar. Bit naughty of her I thought but put me on the spot. Wish I'd not put my profession on my form but oh well. It wasnt akward but may be when i bump into him next LOL!xox

Re: November Buddies
Cazzy, love the new Avvy! And loved reading your story babe, glad you're really happy too. You look great!
Tors - the nipple sensation is fine babe, it's just the nerves healing. Not nice but it's a good sign that all is returning back to normal. I use the round cotton make-up pads and stick those in my bra to cover my nips. Some women prefer to use breast feeding pads though. Ice packs on them also helps relieve the sensation.
Hope you're all well girls. I'm still confined to the house right now but my scars are looking really good. Can't wait to see them again on Monday to see how much they've improved. It's amazing how quickly the body heals isnt it. Xx

Re: November Buddies
I would love to see them Cazzy but don't think I'm allowed am I as I'm still a newbie :(
I wonder if I ask the nurse if she will take a picture of them for me before they strap me up etc, otherewise I'm going to have to wait a whole week to see them grrr, do you think you could take a camera in, I know you can for casearians and that is a more invasive surgery surely?x

Re: November Buddies
Yeah you could do hun it won't harm anyone. I'm sure your ps will take pics aswell. How do you know you'll have bandages on? I have just two small dressings. Freaking out a bit not wearing a bra but I have to trust my surgeon eek xox

Re: November Buddies
I had heard from someone else who recently had him but confirmed with my nurse earlier. I will have my steristrips, something on top of that, then bandages covering my whole chest aparantly to keep them tight so the pockets don't stretch, and then my post op bra with a compression band sewn on to that lol! She described it to me as imagine a marble in a bowl of jelly, the whole gets bigger :/ I think they are being over cautious but it will all be worth it in the end! Cazzy don't you feel like they are going to fall out lol? Aren't you allowed to wear a bra at all? X

I do when I'm walking but resting its fine. He has logic behind his methods & I know he's very skilled with anatomicals. I will post his method to the madness ina min...xo

Re: November Buddies
Ahh actually with anotomicals I have heard of peoples flipping because of the pressure of the bra so maybe he's not mad lol! I am just having round ones x

Re: November Buddies
Method to the maddness lol:
When you have implants in a snug pocket (particularly anatomical ones behind the muscle as u have) then the use of a bra as an implant positioning aid is superfluous in my opinion. In fact the elevation and upforce that the bra provides to the implant can delay the onset of skin stretching and encourage the implants to sit too high.
I think that putting too much force on anatomical implants (I:e when putting the bra on or taking it off) may also prevent the implant adhering to the inside of the pocket + therefore increase the risk of rotation. Your skin as a virtual bra for now. So... The bra can do more harm than god. If you need one for comfort then wear one loosely -
Let me know if you need any further advise.

Re: November Buddies
Still cant walk yet Cazzy this is the hardest part of my recovery. Especially as I'm alone all morning till lunchtime then again till 6. It's gets a bit frustrating some days. But hopefully it's not for much longer though. Xx
You're fine to use your bio-oil babe, just don't get it anywhere near your incisions the rest of your boobs are ok. Xx
