Going for steri strip changed but not with clinic?
Hi girls,
I am going to see a district nurse this morning at my gp's at 9.30 as MyBreast said I could do this instead of visiting the clinic and travelling (30 mins away). I had to ring MyBreast yesterday and ask what to do as I hadn't been booked in for a dressing change and my first appointment was to see my ps in 3 weeks time.
I rung my pc and asked what should be done by the nurse as I know different ps's do different things and seeing as this wasn't a nurse that works for them she may do something different. My pc has advised me to getting my steri strips changed today but I am worried the nurse will get the ass with me telling her what needs to be done and I am wondering if it was a good idea not to go the clinic. I would have been happy to have gone to the clinic.
I hope it doesn't hurt as my steri strips are pretty yuck with scabby blood (sorry tmi)

Makes sense mrsball. I was only in there 5 mins so I was pleased I went there. I can't wait to pull all the steri strips off next week and have a shower xx

Really pleased all went well lovely. It may be worthwhile contacting your surgeon about the removal of your steri-strips next week hun. I'm not saying the district nurse is wrong hun, it's just best to only follow the advice of your own clinic, because should you be unfortunate to have anything go wrong between now and seeing your surgeon, there could always be a possibility of your after care being void due to you seeking care and advice from someone other than your surgeon/clinic, so it's just best to get that advice backed up by your surgeon lovely. xx
