Blood on steri strip - normal? Empty Blood on steri strip - normal?

Post by mariaelaina 11th July 2012, 5:42 pm

Hi! Sorry in advance if i'm making an unnecessary fuss!

I changed my steri strips for the first time since the nurse did it a week after my op.

The steri strip (just on one side) has blood and gungy stuff on it and i looked closer at my incision and its bleeding, so i think i've just opened it up again by pulling the strip off.

I am only 11 days post op so is this normal? I'm confused because its just on one side.

Thanks girlies!!

There's never a fuss lovely Hug

You're fine. A little bleed is to be expected from the wounds early post-op until they're fully healed.

The only time you'd need to contact your clinic over a bleed would be if it wasn't able to be stopped and dressings were sodden. Anything other than that is nothing at all to be concerned about hun. xx
