Shower,Bath and Swimming after BA?
As most of you know i had my post op this morning and had the dressings off, I had questions i wanted to ask but was so worried about the dressings coming off i forgot to ask!! I was given the go ahead for a shower but does that mean a bath too or do i have to wait longer for a bath? And when can we go swimming? xx

I think it's risk of infection hun, that's why they don't want you to submerge the incisions. I'll admit I did have a bath but just kept my boobs out the water!!!x

yup, Wishful is right hun, there is risk of infection if the incisions are fully submerged in water.
Anything like swimming, sauna and jacuzzi should be avoided for 6 weeks, longer if your clinic/surgeon feels necessary because these are for public use and you just don't know what germs are floating around from other people which will put you more at risk of infection in these damp conditions. xx
Re: Shower,Bath and Swimming after BA?
I was told 8 weeks hun!! Although, I was able to shower the day after the OP, so I was lucky in that respect.
It will fly by - the last thing you want is some nasty infection in your lovely new boobies!

Re: Shower,Bath and Swimming after BA?
I was told I could shower from 10 days, but as I don't have a shower she said to just wait until about two weeks. I was really conscious of soaking my incisions, I didn't fully soak them in the bath water until I'd had the all clear to go swimming etc at 6 weeks.
Always check with your clinic nurse if you're unsure, they're only a phone call away xx

LOL.
I hate using the phone in general, I always opt for an email wherever possible.
The answer machines of clinics would be full of us all ringing up with any kind of question if it wasn't for BJSF! x
