HELP ANTIBIOTIC - cephalexin antibiotics anyone??? Empty HELP ANTIBIOTIC - cephalexin antibiotics anyone???

Post by mrsball 4th August 2012, 8:49 am

last night was really sick and ill ive been taking only paracetamol for pain and cephalexin antibiotic tablets 500mg 3 times a day.

the surgeon has just contacted me to say come off the antibiotics as its them he thinks are making me ill which makes sense as theyre quite a high dosage and quite strong.

has anyone else taken these and felt ill or what antibiotics is everyone on? dosage and strength?

WAS TAKING THEM FOR PREVENATIVE MEASURES

Yep I'm on exactly the same ones, first time round they gave me terrible upset stomach, but this time I seem to be torelating them better, not sure if it's down to a different diet from last year, but am pleased it's not making me ill. Sorry they haven't agreed with you, hope you start to feel better now your coming off them.

Hi Mrsball, sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly Hug

If memory serves, I was also on cephelexin but think my dosage was less than yours. I remember it made me feel a bit dizzy and spaced out about 20 mins after I took it. After a few days I brought the dosage down and then just had it before I went to sleep so I didn't wake up in any discomfort in the middle of the night.

It sounds like that high dosage doesn't agree with you babe... Xx

i think ive taken too higher dosage, i was told also that i had antibiotic through IV also while i was under and so to take 500mg 3 times a day was a bit much and caused me to be ill :( and obviously had adverse reatction to them and overdosed on them by too high dosage :(

It does sound odd that you need to take 1500mg/day while I only need 1000mg.. Plus mine is spread out. You are taking double the amount I am in each sitting.

At least you seem to have found the cause for your sickness now x how you feeling today?

I cant remember what ones I took. But many people do get this type of reaction for either strong painkillers or strong antibiotics. I hope now you've stopped taking them that you will feel better soon.

I cant take codine pinkillers either as they make me sick so i was just sticking to paracetamol, however after stopping taking them antibiotics yesterday i feel a LOT better, my right boob is healing a lot quicker than my left which is what happened last time, i can feel a lot more pain, achiness and numbness in my left... ggrrr wish theyd heal at the same rate! x

I've been very forgetful with my tablets, lol but I was an unlucky one before that had and infection which led to explant and is very familiar of symptoms. This is the first time I've left with antibiotics they never used to do it before!! I see you had 620cc how u finding them. I've just had 700cc put in and they have made such a huge difference to the shape I can now at this moment say I'm over the moon with them. xxxx
