Post by laura28 18th June 2011, 2:42 pm

Hi ladies, im 5 days post op, loving my new boobs!!!! I couldnt take my painkillers they made me drowsy, dizzy and felt really rough on them my chest felt whizzy and tight!! Havent taken anything else feel ok though. Noticed that my stomach has really swollen, got rash over my tummy and back, had headaches and cramps in my leg, phoned up and they told me it sounds like im allergic to the antibiotics they gave me to reduce risk of infection!! Havent had much luck with the painkillers or antibiotics but love my new boobs!!!

Did anyone else have swollen tummy I feel 7 months pregnant lol its not nice!!!!!

I hope its just all the drugs etc and that my tummy and rash will disappear soon!!

Anyone had this???

Thanks xx

I think most people have the swollen tummy. It's just due to the GA, and will go down once your system gets back up and running properly. The GA shuts down your body for a while and this can back up your system a bit. It will go down. The rash will go when the antibiotics are out of your system.

My stomach was so hard and swollen I decided to stop taking the codeine on day 3 as this adds to the problem. I would say my stomach today (day 8) is a bit more back to normal.

It's a right bummer for you to have the added irritation of an allergy, bless you hope it goes quickly ! xx

Enjoy the post op shower - i had my stitches out last friday and was so looking forward to mine...but can you believe the shower broke before water hit my chest and instead i got a foot wash. I could have cried, what were the chances of that happening. Laughing now thou!
