Achy boobs after going to the gym
Hi Girls,
I'm almost 6 weeks post op now and have been to the gym a couple of times over the last couple of weeks. I've just been doing gentle exercise, like the sitting down bike thing, sqauts and gentle arm weights. No bouncing!! I've been ok until now, but I think I must have overdone it yesterday because my right boob is killing me today It's like a dull aching pain in the muscle under my armpit, and kind of underneath the implant. The boob itself has become quite sore too, but no redness or hardening or anything like that. I've had a couple of small shooting pains this evening too. My left boob is also a little sore, but nothing like the right one. I think I've probably just strained the muscle in my chest somehow, but I'm really worried... Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Re: Achy boobs after going to the gym
It does sound like you may have pushed your body a bit too hard to quickly :(
I was very silly and back on the treadmill (only for some walking) straight after my op and got shooting pains under the implant and around the incisions. But I stopped and it all went away.
If you're worried you've caused some damage then it's always best to give your surgeon a ring, but I think its best to give the gym a rest for a while and see if you feel back to normal

Take it easy hun!
Or as Mariaelaina said call your surgeon just to get checked, put your mind at rest if you think you have really damaged something.
Let us know how you get on.

I agree with the others, it does sound like you may have over done it......I would take it easy for a few days and see if it improves. Just like to add that I love your avator, your boobies look amazing!!!

In my opinion I would always say wait until you get the all clear from your surgeon to take part in any upper body activitys (no matter how light the weights were). While you may feel 'ok' on the outside your body is still healing on the inside... I think this is your bodies way of saying "hang on a minute".
Let your body recover fully, there's plenty of time to get your fitness back up when you're able xx

Re: Achy boobs after going to the gym
I'm dreading the no exercise bit! My evening runs keep me sane after a crazy day with the kids! I'll be going mad
That's the one thing I'm not looking forward to! After a couple of weeks I'll have to walk my running route instead then I still get to keep my sanity! lol
xx

Re: Achy boobs after going to the gym
Walking is a great form of exercise and is fine to do after major surgery. You must must must rest. You have to get back into gym sessions after your surgeon has told you that you can. Plus you will have to work very lightly and work your way back up to what you used to do.
