how did ur friends and colleagues react? Empty how did ur friends and colleagues react?

Post by sammi710 26th June 2012, 11:18 am

Hi i was just wondering how u found everyones reaction to ur ba? i m very lucky as my family are great and i know i wont have to worry about them, but have already had a few snipey comments from someone i consider to be a close friend!!!!

sorry i might ramble on a bit i m just not sure how to explain how i m feeling lol

my best friend is already telling me i cant show my new boobs to anyones bf (why would i do this??? i m having a boob job not a personality change!!!) i ve said to her that flashing my boobs has not crossed my mind once and i dont think i m going to go around stealing ppls bfs afterwards?! this has upset me a bit. i ve also had comments from other friends saying i ll be too perfect when i have boobs??!! this sounds lovely when i type it but when they say it it doesnt come across as lovely (do u know what i mean?)

I ve always been tall and skinny (5'7 7 and a half stone) and completley flat chested (dont even fill a 30A) so when i get my ba done its going to be quite noticable even if i wear a burkha! i m a bit **naughty word** that my friends think i m going to be some sort of threat to them with boobs?? has anyone else experienced this? did ur friends get over it?

Also work is a major issue, i do a very manual job working with horses, and i m self employed so i going to have to take a month of at least and not get paid how did ur friends and colleagues react? 476424 i think i may need longer as my job involves a lot of heavy lifting and now i m thinking about my boobs more i noticed the other day in the first hour of work i had been headbutted by horses in the boob area 3 times!!!! (damn they have no personal space awarness lol) so do any of u ladies have a more accurate estimate of how long i will need off?

thanks for taking the time to read this and advice would be greatly appreciated

With your work lovely, I would imagine you're going to need to take the 6 weeks away, which being self employed is going to be really hard for you, but to get a better idea, this is really something you should discuss with your surgeon, but being such hard work, I do think he'll agree with the 6 weeks.

Other women often feel very threatened by us having a BA and can say things out of their own jealously without thinking! I wouldn't let it hurt you lovely, it's their problem, not yours, so just don't take them on hun. It's quite sad really that they're so insecure to feel this way.

You enjoy your new boobs hun, you've quite rightly said they don't change your personality... I will say though hun that you'll find they do enhance your personality with a new found confidence which is so refreshing and liberating at the same time as you lose your insecurity.

You're dealing with your insecurities lovely by getting a new pair of boobs, feel sorry for your friends, a personality change is going to much more difficult!!! xx

I can remember before I had my BA. My ex would read the Sunday Sport paper which is full of top heavy lovelies and I would b so jealous because of own insecurities being flat cheated that I thought I was going to explode. I expect ur 'friend' is feeling the same only instead of her bf ogling a picture which poses no threat he will be looking at real life big boobies (not in a pervy way but in a my-gf-mate-has-had-a-boob-job kind of way) and she just feels jealous. I'm sure she'll soon realise it hasn't turned U onto a man hungry monster!

my friends thought I'd suddenly go from dressing conservatively to dressing like a porn star and they'd be really obvious, they were generally excited for me though.
Negative comments probably do come from jealousy. x

It unfortunately sounds a lot like jealousy and your friend putting her insecurities onto you. I think a lot of girls here can relate which is why it's good to have BJSF... you can come here and we won't judge each other and can feel free to discuss our boobs without all of the stigma from other people who simply just don't understand us and our reasons for a BA.

Hold your head high and don't let people's opinions get in the way of YOUR happiness and confidence, if these people don't stick around after then they've probably done you a favour if they're willing to jeopardise a friendship based on their own insecurities. It could be she just has a preconception of boob-jobs from people like Jordan, once she see's you're just a happier version of yourself I'm sure you won't have a problem!

My friends have all been nice & supportive about my both BA's :) texting me to see how I am, asking if I need anything and complimenting the boobies! They want boob jobs themselves. :) Strangers on a night out are generally OK, some have come up to me and asked are they fake and the odd one has made bitchy remarks like "look at her PLASTIC boobs".. My friends can't wait for me to have mine done! Saying they want to come over the day after too see them!!

I've only told one friend in work, and my boss, I didnt want to talk about it before I had it done as I didn't want peoples opinion to change my mind!! I know they will obviously notice, but after I've had it done they cant ge my mind!!!

Good on anyone who does it for themselves and listens to no ones snide and horrible comments!! My ex being one of them :)

thanks everyone u ve made me feel much better, from ur comments i m guessing these remarks say more about the state of their relationships rather than my boobs! and i do have some genuinely excited friends that are happy for me, i guess i m going to have to get used to my boobs being a topic for gossip, some is going to be good and some bad!

I'd really advise taking as much time as you possibly can after your op in light of your work. I was leading one of my mum's horses out about 4 weeks PO and he spooked and yanked his head. GAWD! It hurt! My mum didn't know about my BA so had to pretend I pulled a muscle, although it did get me out of lugging water buckets across the field. It's those unexpected things they do that can catch you out.

I only ever ride when I'm back at my folks' (can't devote the time to my own horse just yet how did ur friends and colleagues react? 43877 ). I rode at 8 weeks (2 sports bras and my wee mare I broke 20 years ago, so I trust her completely) and was fine. Some girls may have gone back sooner but this was my first opportunity. Water buckets and feeding was fine then too, although mucking out with a wheel barrow full of poo was still a bit tender. I'd take your surgeon's advise on this really, and listen to your body x

hey sammi, I'm in the same boat...my best friend looked at me with horror and disgust when I told her I was thinking of getting it done. I'm now booked in for surgery and don't feel I can share it with her - usually we tell each other everything!!

But like everyone on here has said, its a boob job not a personality switch so if your friend (and mine) can't see past that then I guess they're not such a good friend after all. Best of luck with it doll and with the horses. Be happy!!! xx
