Post by Littlemissheartthrob 18th June 2012, 3:37 pm

How long did it take you ladies to get back to normal?
I am one week post op and it'd driving me mad not doing things. I managed to go out for a drive for the first time today and struggled to put it into 5th and reverse.
Had to pick my oldest up from shoot and pushing my little one in the buggy nearly killed me lol.
Did the hoovering in one room when I got back and now I feel like I want to sleep but I still have to do dinner. It's driving me nuts lol x

Sweetheart, at just 1 week post-op you really shouldn't be hoovering, that should be left to someone else for the 6 weeks along with any ironing that needs doing... Your new breasts need stability to heal and everytime you're pushing on your upper body, you just set your recovery back that little bit more, so please, leave that to anyone who can help you out. The dust can wait, your recovery cant.

It took me 2 weeks to get my life back to some kind of normality hun and I dont have small children. LISTEN to your body and rest when it tells you need rest. It sounds to me like you could do with the extra help around the house and with children for another week babe. I'm sure those that love and care for you will understand and help. You're doing far too much in your early recovery and I know it's hard to sit and take a back seat, especially when you have little ones, but you've just shelled out a heck of a lot of money for your boobs and they're not going to appear all gorgeous overnight, they take time to heal and to do that, they need help from you sweetheart. xx

To me it sounds like you're doing a bit too much hun, all of those activities are really quite strenuous.

By about 2 weeks I felt ok but I was aware I couldn't push myself, things that I thought I would probably manage I avoided anyway until I was given the all clear. I did hurt myself pulling open a draw full of bed linen and that made me realise just how easy it is to over do it! So please be careful!

You'll start feeling better soon, I'm now 7 weeks PO and feel absolutely normal... I cant remember when i started feeling myself again, it just happens gradually but the first two weeks were the worst. You just have to be patient. Hug X

It takes a few weeks, I haven't driven yet or lifted anything heavy. I've hoovered but I've got a cylinder hoover so I just kick it a bit to move it to my rug then sit on floor and move the nozzle over the rug and that's it. x

Wow hun I would be taking more time out if I were you, you don't wanna delay your healing time. I know some things can't be avoided if you have littluns but I would take this opportunity to really take it easy, if there was ever an excuse to be lazy - 4k is it!!

Post by Meemoo 20th June 2012, 7:56 pm

Hi there,

I know just how hard it can be with little ones. I have a 7 yr old and a 9 months baby - I live alone as well!

I had help the first week and then had to ask for extra help for a couple more days. I was able to lift my baby at 10 days - but only because I had no choice and had to be very careful.

I would normally hoover every other day but since my BA (3 weeks today) I have really forced myself to leave the hoover under the stairs - you just have to ignore the mess ..... it can wait.

I actually think that my recover has been delayed because I was driving, lifting baby, using the pushchair so early on - however I couldn't avoid certain things. I would say to you - if it is not essential, do not do it.

I can now feel one of my implants rolling about and I'm sure it is because I have done too much too soon. Trust the girls that know and try and avoid what doesn't need doing.

I felt a lot worse than I thought I would, felt exhausted for the first two weeks and it got me a little down thinking it would never end - it does, next week you will start to feel yourself again, just be kind to your body.

xx
