Getting back to normal Empty Getting back to normal

Post by HelloSailor! 2nd September 2010, 4:37 pm

Hi Ladies
I was arranging to go and visit my old pal and she said to me "it will be 2 weeks after your op - you will probably want to rest!"

I don't fancy being a recluse for several weeks after the op - how long will I be back to normal, or does it just depend per person?

hello
i think it depends on the individual. i felt absolutely fine 1 hour after operation. didn't suffer from tiredness, pain, bloating, etc. i didn't feel the need to rest. my sleep was never broken post BA, so always felt very awake with plenty of energy during the day. i'm sure you'll be absolutely fine to visit your friend 2 weeks after BA. i'm exactly 2 weeks post op today, and am feeling on top of the world.
good luck with your BA!!

i went out the house on day 3 and my boobies felt like they were going to fall off, then on day 5 i was out again and absolutely fine and back to normal activities. now almost 3 weeks post op i am absolutely great. it just depends on the individual hun. my advice would be not to organise too much and take things at your own pace, otherwise when you can't do what you have planned you will be disappointed with yourself. everyone is different and heals at different rates.

I have found that I felt fine and up to doing something but would pay the next day as really uncomfotable. I am only 9 days post op tho! x

I wouldn't set anything in stone as with a BA we heal at different rates, but in general most of us are back to general day to day stuff by 2 weeks post-op, so I imagine as long as you don't have anything too exhausting planned you should be fine. xx

Thanks ladies!
2 weeks to go now.

Out of interest - how long did you have to wear your sports bras for? In other words, how long until you could display your new goods?! x

Think every surgeon is different, maybe it depends on the size you or what you had before? Have been told 6 weeks in sports bra but can wear normal bra if i want too just strictly no underwires for 6 weeks. Heard of some ladies being told to go braless thou i wouldnt fancy that... My sports bra is like a comfort blanket now! Its just important to listen to what your surgeon says and follow that.
Re getting back to normal.. i went to my brothers wedding 2 wks after my first BA and was fine. Could not have done that this time after my re-op thou was really wiped! xx
