Problem with my boob
I have noticed one of my boobs is swollen, and the edges of implant is hard to feel and feels tender and just doesnt seem right, the other boob when lying down i can make out the implant and move it around but the tender boob seems harder to move and feel, any ideas
Re: Problem with my boob
Have you been doing any heavy lifting Dawn? or stretching on the swollen boob side?
Sometimes if you overdo things it can still effect your boobs and make them swell or ache as they're still healing on the inside for up a whole year post-op lovely.
If you can find no reasoning for the pain/swelling then it might be best for you to go and see your surgeon hun and just let them have a little check to make sure all is going well. xx

Re: Problem with my boob
i have been doing some drilling, i went to my doctors this morning he could feel small fibroid type lumps around nipple so that has worried me if its the C word, hopefully that is just my mind being stupid. I am sat here worried as scared something seriously wrong with me, but i do suffer with health anxiety so i always think the worst
the doctor said the implant didnt feel like other one and that the edges didnt feel the same and as easy to feel as other boob
i hope there is nothing wrong with me :(xxx

Re: Problem with my boob
Oh you poor thing c'mere!!!
The ache and swelling is very possibly down to the drilling babe and due to the swelling being there it does make sense that the swelling would effect the ability to feel the implant doesn't it...
As for the fibroid lumos, if your G had any concern at all about those I'm quite sure they would have acted on that and referred you for further investigation hun so they must be satisfied all is fine there
I'd make an appointment with your surgeon sweetheart, go and see them, tell them you've been drilling as this might help your surgeon better diagnose the cause. Let your surgeon give your boobs a good check and take things from there lovely and do please let us know how you get on.
BIG HUGE, HUMUNGOUS HUGS for you Dawn xx

Re: Problem with my boob
doctor said if it hasnt settled down in two weeks he will send me hospital to get the lumps looked at, my worry if with that calcuim deposits say if it was that can look like the "c" word on the scans, so i am pooping myself :( i am going to see Renato on thursday so at least that is days away so the swelling can go down etc if its from the DIY work.
the feeling of my boob is weird say if i try and squeeze the ok boob its firmish and i can feel implant so cant squeeze much without resistance but the swollen one i can squeeze very easily and seems to be like implant is not there :( maybe it fell out at night, may go look in my bed lol
i just dont want the C word or to have to pay for more work to be done :(

Re: Problem with my boob
I can understand your concern sweetheart
I dunno what the problem might be surgery wise... With CC the breast distorts and rises up the chest as the capsule tightens around the implant.
With a rupture, which I had, the implants to 'feel' didn't feel any different as the gel is 'form stable', even though some silicone had leaked beyond the capsule the implant felt just the same squidginess as the other, but I also had raised lymph nodes under my armpit also and the breast looked twice the size of the other....
As for the C-word, I do personally know that having that hanging over your head is very scary babe, I had a tumour removed, one from each breast when I was just 22 years old. But until you know chick, try and stay positive and see what the next two weeks bring
In the meantime whilst you're waiting on seeing your surgeon, I'd get your boobs back in the old security of your sportsbra babe, keeping the breasts nice and stable and don't do anything! Keep yourself well rested and see if that helps with the swelling.
I sincerely wish you well Dawn and do please post here anytime you have any fears or you feel scared at all, there's probably always somearound who can understand and help babe, so don't feel like you're going through this alone Dawn.. you're not. We'll all be here for you xx

Re: Problem with my boob
I hope it is just a bit of swelling, and nothing too serious hun. These things are sent to try us hun. Dont be scared, you will be fine.
Re: Problem with my boob
the area is inner lower area just outside aerola, it seems like a area of bumpy lumps i am honestly terrified and cant get it out my head :(
Re: Problem with my boob
Awww sweetie, I sincerely think if your GP suspected anything sinister you wouldn't be waiting 2 weeks to be seen again
When I was diagnosed babe, from start to finish from when the tumours got diagnosed, the day in my GPs surgery, to the following day when I had to have aspiration, to me being told the same day I was having surgery to having them removed 2 days later.... it took 4 days in all and they were gone babe....
So sweetheart, I really wouldnt make myself ill with worry unless you had definate reason to do so. You're seeing your surgeon on thursday and that's good, you've already seen your GP and they're happy to leave things for a couple of weeks so that's a positive sign isn't it hun Like I said earlier sweetie, get that sportsbra back on so your breasts have no movement and rest..... Give your boobs a little time and see how things go lovely. xxx

Re: Problem with my boob
I would see your surgeon hun if you can to check your implant and maybe get a scan as lumps and pain was the first thing I noticed when mine ruptured. And since you cant feel the impla
nt edge as much thats possibly a sign as my surgeon said he couldnt feel mine. Hope all goes ok, try not to worry xx

Re: Problem with my boob
still worrying over boobs, i notice that one boob is bigger than other and also the bigger one is now lower sitting so my nipples are no longer level, wonder why that is
Re: Problem with my boob
Does it feel like the upper one is rising at all or do you feel the lower has dropped further? Are you still feeling lumps in the breast?
Hopefully when you see Dr Renato on Thursday he can give you more information as to the reason for the problems you're experiencing sweetie.
If a scan is requested by your surgeon, before you think about paying for that privately (Your after care doesn't cover this) as this is an ongoing problem with your GP, go back to your GP and tell them what the surgeon has suggested, or better still get your surgeon to fax the suggestion to your GP so you will be able to have the scan on the NHS hun. xx

Re: Problem with my boob
i cant work out if one seems smaller now or the other is bigger than it was? i have no idea what the problem can be :( hope nothing serious, seeing Renato thursday so he can examine me, i still feel lumps, went my drs today he said i just have lumpy breasts, but these lumps have not been there long as i think i would of noticed
Re: Problem with my boob
Just wanted to wish you well for when you go to see Mr Renato tomorrow Dawn and to let you know I'll be thinking of you. Please let us know how you get on babe xx
Re: Problem with my boob
i will let you know, i am pretty sure i will walk away from him with him saying everything is fine and nothing is wrong.
Re: Problem with my boob
Yes, please do let us know Dawn... You know the plan if Mr Renato does that to you (hopefully he wont though), so don't lose hope sweetheart, go and get that scan sorted with your GP  xx
re op?
Renato checked my boobs, and he said the implant that i was concerned about has flipped over so the flat side is facing out, he gave me three options
1: to leave it to see if it flips over again if it does then a re op
2: to have bigger implants put in to fill pocket more
3: keep implants as they are and have surgery to make pocket smaller
He said if i go for the bigger implants then i have to accept that they would be heavier so would droop quicker than ones i have, my nipples are quite low on my boobs now, so i am not sure whether to ask for a uplift with a bigger implant? what do you think

Re: Problem with my boob
If you ask for the uplift as well hun, you'll probably have to pay for that part of your surgery yourself sweetheart so just wanted to prepare you for that. The larger implants and surgery etc will of course be free of charge.
If it were me, I'd go for the larger implant which should also lift the nipple and yes, you'd probably need an uplift later, but you can do when when you 'need' to do that and you'd be well prepared for it by then...
If you haven't already discussed this option with your surgeon, it might be worthwhile going into more depth with him about this though babe.
Gotta say, I've been hearing a fe 'firsts' for me lately and the flipping of a 'round' implant is another... I've only ever heard of anatomicals flipping before, so thank you for letting us know the cause. xx

Re: Problem with my boob
yeh i thought i would have to pay for it, but unsure whether worth doing at same time or later down the line
i was quite suprised when he said it had flipped lol i wouldnt of thought it could do that, but i was thinking of saving to go bigger so at least i can get it for free, so something good will come from it, i have been told i have to wear a bra all the time now but i do anyhow day and night, i am not sure what size it will take me too as am a 34E to a 32F at moment, i will be happier to go a big bigger as i dont feel enough fullness
he did flip my implant back in the room, yuck lol but he said it can continue to do it, i hope the bigger implant will be better for me, he said between a 520 and 615 or something he said he will be looking at xxx

Re: Problem with my boob
Makes you wonder why he over dissected the pocket to allow this to happen doesn't it??
Even with an uplift, your breasts over time are going to sag babe, an uplift doesn't prevent this from happening it just aesthetically makes the appearance nice in the here and now, but as mother nature takes hold, gravity gets us all eventually.... so if a larger implant is going to lift the nipple to an appearance you'd be happy with for now, why not wait 3 or four years and then consider when you may like/need to have one.... xx
