Post by Alex-C 8th May 2012, 12:32 pm

So... On Sunday 06th (@ 3weeks) my scab came off, apart from one teeny bit which was left standing strong. Unfortunately yesterday as i was removing my bra to splash on some cream (flakey-ness has began!!) i notice the remaining bit of my scab had come off with it, curious as i am, i picked up a small mirror and started looking at my incision area. The last bit of the scab must not have been ready to leave because i got a bit of tissue and realised it was bleeding a bit. Quickly ran for the first aid kit and slapped on a plaster...When i saw the spot of blood i panicked .
Any pre op ladies reading this, be extra careful once the initial bandage/ plaster comes off.
Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening with the new scab which Im hoping is already forming???

I wouldn't worry at all about that Alex, I know sometimes when you see blood it can be scary, but it's fine 3 weeks post op scab 571992

If the bleeding has stopped now babe I'd remove the plaster, ensure the area is clean and just let the air get to it, it'll heal over soon enough sweetie. Just remember never to use any creams or moisturisers near your incisions too as they aree still prone to infection.

Also if you find the band of your bra irritates your scars in any way, just try using a panty liner to cushion the skin from the bra (sticky side against the bra of course) xx

I wouldnt stick a plaster on it to be honest hun, as when you pull it off, that nice new skin thats been growing will likely be pulled off with it. To be honest best just to let it breathe, and maybe stick some pantyliners/pads around the bottom of your bra so it doesnt rub on the new scab?x (Basically just what Cooks said haha)

Hey ladies!!
So started my scar management yesterday as Im now fully scab free, while i was massaging the scar area (in small circular motions) i heard/felt a small popping sound coming from my incision area... Have any of you had this / what could it be?

FYI - The incision on righty is more sore than lefty (the one who is refusing to drop) so i haven't been able to massage it properly.

Thanks again :flowers:

When you get the all clear to start massaging your new scar from your nurse/surgeon the massage will help so much in smoothing out the scar, the pop could have been some of the scar tissue breaking down which encourages the skin to flatten babe, or it could be simply a little fluid that will have just dispersed as you massaged it, it's nothing at all to worry about sweetness. 3 weeks post op scab 4239681551 xx
