At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
1) Sleep flat on an airbed in a tent?
2) Spend the day walking around a theme park?
3) Walk up a steep hill for about 30 minutes?
I know that most of you won't have experienced these activities at 4 weeks post-op but just wondered if those who are around the 4 week mark feel they could cope with these things at this time? Or if anyone can remember 4 weeks post-op and what your limits were?
The reason I ask is because at 4 weeks post-op I will be catering on a Scout camp for 7 days!

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
Sounds fun! My hubby does explorer scouts, theyre off at the end of August leaving me all alone
Im nearly at 4weeks, and just popping to the shop is exhausting. I think the tent sleeping should be fine, but all the walking might be a bit too much. I guess it depends. I think the compression bands im wearing are a bit of a hinderence, as its still hunching me a bit, and the tightness does affect my breathing if going far. I think you've just got to wait and see what you are going to be capable of, and take it easy where you can.

Hmm that's a tough one. I see your having a lift, and unders, which means your recovery will be longer than someone that's had a straight forward BA. In my honest opinion, no I don't think your gonna be fit enough to do that. I didn't feel too bad at 4 weeks post op, but I still couldn't lift or carry and exercise is a no no until you reach 6 weeks. But let's see what the other girls say xx

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
Hi,
I had 600cc over 12 days ago. Im back at work and i have two kids who keep me busy.
Im still really - not sore - but uncomfy by the end of the day.
I can sleep on my side again.
I can lift a shopping bag but i woudlnt lift my child or do anything outragous but im not disabled anymore LOL.
You may be a bit slower then me as you are going under as opposed to my overs.
However if this is me at 12 days im hoping by 4 weeks im back into exercise!! :)
Good luck... Oh and im going camping 4 weeks PO :)

I'm 2 weeks post op and am doing everything except heavy lifting and obv not jogging but I'm doin all the house work and walking and I had unders so every1 is different I had absolutely no pain and was completely fine I went out for dinner the day after my op but I think I was just lucky, one thing I will say tho is I find myself out of breath after a shirt walk so I cannot walk as fast or as far as I used to but it's not pain just very out of breath wen I return from a walk xx

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
Thanks ladies, sounds like sleeping would be ok and to take it easy with walking? The theme park day would be a gentle walk with lots of sitting so I may be ok with that, but the uphill walk I may have to pass on as it is quite tiring when you aren't recovering from surgery. I can always stay at the campsite on that day and read my book . Would probably be ready for a rest by then! Haha!

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
You should be fine with the sleeping and walking at four weeks post-op babe. But just remember at all times that you are still in your recovery period and most importantly LISTEN to your body.
The steep hill climbing will probably be out of the question hun. Walking is fine and the sleeping on the air bed will be fine too but you'll be under strict instructions to do NO excercise for six weeks and the uphill walking would require some effort and after going through major surgery to get your nice new perky boobs the last thing you're going to want to do risk putting yourself back on that table in theatre.
Its so, so important to listen to your recovery instructions babe. They're set in place for a reason and its so you can get the very best from your surgery with the best result possible. Xx

Thanks cookie, I will definitely be listening to my body during the recovery period. There are plenty of other leaders there to help with things so I think the only issue would have been the uphill walking to the rock face (where they do rock climbing) so will just pass on that and hope for a sunny day .

I am four weeks post op and I can probably do all of the things you say, but like cookie says, be careful on the hill walking. I am really fit though (physically not fit good looking!!) and it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem for me, but listen to your body. Have lots of fun, my son is in scouts, hats off to you for a scout camp!!!!

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
Thanks Happy1day! I have been doing the catering for scouts for a few years now as my hubby runs the scout group. The summer camps are tough going as the week is so tiring! But I spend most of my time preparing/cooking everyone's meals . Fingers crossed for nice weather!

I can imagine how exhausting it can be! My son slept for a full 24 hours when he got home and his teeth were neon orange LOL! I am sure you will be fine on your camp, take it easy. My boobs are still quite sore to the touch so make sure that nobody bangs into you because you will definitely know about it

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
Hey, at 3 wks I went away in for a few days with the kids. I found gentle walking about all day was fine, I would probably struggle with a very steep hill though as your posture alters to climb which I think may make you ache. Sleeping with be ok, take your usual pillows so you can get as comfy as you can. x
Good luck with summer camp! My 9yr old is going this year to Brownsea island, he is excited and I'm dreading it!! x

Re: At 4 Weeks Post-Op Would You Have Been Able To....
Thanks RayRay! Sounds good to me! I was saying to my hubby last night that it will make a nice change not having to put up/take down any tents or lug around all the heavy equipment I can just sit and delegate! Haha.
Aww your son will love it! Don't worry, we look after them very well! Obvs I can only speak for our Scouts but they generally have a fab time!
