Strange thing happened in my sleep
When I sleep I often tend to raise my arms up, it's not something I can help really since I do it in my sleep (drives DH up the wall). Last night I raised my arm up, and felt pain in the top part of my nipple incision. I mean painful, it woke up up in shock, and fear I'd torn my incision. I went down to the toilet to unfasten my bra, and have a look under bright light (need bright light when you've got steri strips on) to see if anything had happened, everything looked fine. I went back to bed, but didn't sleep too well after that, dreamt my breasts were saggy and deflated :/
Also, when I removed my day bra last night to get into my night one my boobs/nipple area felt so itchy. And today I keep feeling, don't quite know how to describe, a sort of stabbing/itchy pain around nipples. I feel fine though, and everything looks good, and to my surprise I always had some nipple sensation, even after op, found this out when I had my stitches removed five days later. My only completely numb areas are under my nipples, which sounds quite common.

You're fine Roxanne
That itching sensation you're getting is just the incision knitting back together.
I also felt iching all over my boobs which was the nerve endings... it drove me nuts I have to say but icepacks helped.
The stabbing sensation is the nerve endings also knitting together babe, not a nice feeling but a good one as it showing all is healing well.
With you sleeping with your arms raised, your own body is the best alert to wake you and tell you to STOP lol just like it did when you awoke, so don't worry hun, you'll look after you whilst you sleep.
Numbness is any area is common after breast augmentation, it can last anything up to one year post-op and MOST of us do get sensation back, I know from here only a few that haven't regained full sensation.xx

Thanks for reassuring me It's what I suspected with the daytime twinges since I've been getting them to some degree since the beginning. The itchiness was on another level yesterday evening though.
But it's the night pain that really did freak me out at the time, that was scary xxx

Correctomondo cookie, its just all your little nerves knitting back together. I actually sat bolt upright in the middle of the night, awoken from my sleep screaming in pain! Felt like a cross between someone stabbing me in the incision, and also like it was on fire. That too was nerves healing! Grim but neccessary! lol x

Re: Strange thing happened in my sleep
I'm scared to go to sleep now, but it's good to here it's normal and I'm not the only one. I was convinced I'd torn my incision. I expected to look down and see my nipple bleeding or something. Being woken up like that does not help though, hence the panic at the time No wonder I had strange dreams after of saggy deflated boobs
