Re: If there was one thing...
Before my first surgery.... I wish I'd done more research. Taken my time to choose a surgeon and if need be payed more to get exactly what I wanted instead of just running along with excitement with no thought other than the fact that I was going to have boobs. I payed a hefty price for that and I'm still paying - I'm now having my second revision. This is my last surgery connected to my first. Good or bad, that's me finished now until I'm ready to change implants again and when that time comes I now know enough to know exactly what a surgeon talks about when discussing a surgery plan with me and enough to know what won't work for me and what will and when that time comes I know it'll be much better than what I've had from my first surgery. Xx
Re: If there was one thing...
Not realising how incapacitated you are after. Read up all before but not much afterwards. So you will rely on help with simple stuff for first week especially x

Re: If there was one thing...
I wish I'd known a bit more. I've been lucky with my BA and had no problems so far. I did research but if I'd known then what I know now I would have done things a bit differently.
Re: If there was one thing...
I wish I had looked into size abit more cos I problies would have gone slightly bigger.

Re: If there was one thing...
I wish had done more research and taken more time over the decision. Not of having the surgery, but probably everything else. Instead of jumping in at the 1st possible opportunity I had! Xx

Re: If there was one thing...
Similar to many others, I wish I had done a lot more research - especially in relation to size. I'm much more informed second time around

Re: If there was one thing...
Me too, case of boobie greed and wishing I'd gone bigger. Agree too with comment about recovery too, nurse told me she was back at work within two days and I'm still having difficulty doing things now after 4 weeks.
I said after I wouldn't do it again, I'm already planning my next one and a bigger size lol!!

Re: If there was one thing...
Exploring size and profiles more. I was so paranoid I would look like Dolly Parton side on, that maybe I erred on the side of caution. If I had asked the surgeon what would be the maximum size for my frame I might have chosen differently. To be fair it hasn't been a bad decision though, as when I need a reop I can go bigger and extra high profile, and if I'd gone for my maximum first time around then for a reop I would need an uplift.
Research wise into clinic and surgeon... 100% happy with my decision. It's this site that I have to thank for that as reading other people's stories and the ongoing support made my decision far more informed.x

Re: If there was one thing...
Impant Profiles- these were never discussed with me and I had never heard of them until discovering this forum!
Aftercare-didnt realise mine was so short and felt really on my own when I thought there was a problem and nobody was interested unless I paid another £150.
I think what all the girls above have said is very true. Research, Research and at least 3 seperate consultatons with different surgeons.

Re: If there was one thing...
I would have taken my time more. I found a surgeon that had really good reviews so i trusted him endlessly, but then I think he made the wrong choices for me. He advised overs, and said the immortal words 'I generally do overs', I'd read sooo many times that you should run a mile from anyone that says that, but assumed it must have been best for me as I trusted him. I believe he made the wrong choice

Re: If there was one thing...
Lian, if you don't mind me asking, why do you think your surgeon made the wrong choice in suggesting overs?
I've seen one surgeon already (Mr Mahdi), and he said he's only do unders on me, and I have a consultation booked with Paul Clarke in December, so I'm curious to see whether he suggests overs or unders for me, because I've heard that he prefers to do overs xx

Re: If there was one thing...
Thank you for all the replies I'm hopefully on the right track then as I seem to be doing lately is research into anything and everything to do with boobs lol! I'm so glad I found this forum as its really made me realise what a serious operation it is and how it's not something to rush into made me realise how naive I was being oops xx

Re: If there was one thing...
Hmmm I'm not sure if there was anything, maybe along the same lines as the other girls saying that I would have went slightly bigger as implants tend to look smaller? Can't really say as I am only 6 weeks PO. One thing I am glad I didn't know, was how low my blood pressure would be right after the op and how horrendous I would feel for 24 hours because of it (don't worry about this happening to you, I have a medical condition which makes me bp hit rock bottom with certain anesthesia) I can't even imagine my second op come 10 years time when they need replaced because I never want to feel like that again

Re: If there was one thing...
I had trouble with my BP too Peachy. Not nice at all. I had to have my bed tipped with my head down. Really weird and not a good feeling when you've just had your boobs done either. Xx
Re: If there was one thing...
I just remember how everytime I opened my eyes the room spun and I felt so sick and dizzy, I coulnd't focus my eyes on anything, then when I closed them and relaxed my BP kept dropping even more so the nurses kept trying to rouse me to keep me awake. Was awful xx
