How do you mean you can feel them hun?
I used to feel a pressure behind my implant like it was pushing against my muscle, it did freak me out but my ps said this was normal and part of the healing process.

Hi sc , I feel this weird bump thing on my lefty, it definitely feels weird and there's nothing on the right one. Anyone else had this? Kind wishing and praying its just the muscle.

Hi Alex, keep in mind that although they call them sub-muscular, only the top part of the implant is completely covered with muscle. The bottom part isn't. In fact they call them partial unders. Where exactly do you feel the bump? Is it big or small?

Re: submuscular implants? Why can i feel them!?
xaxa is bang on babe, alot of women are under the illusion that they have 'unders' as this is the word most people use when being told the implant is going 'under the muscle' when infact 'unders' are completey under the muscle and very rarely used except for reconstrustion e.g after a mastectomy...
What you have are as you say babe 'submuscular' or 'partials' which they are more commonly known, this means the implant is held on by the top part of the muscle only, the bottom half isn't as you can see from the third pic in this diagram -
So the reason you can feel your implant is because there is no muscle covering the bottom.
Quite a lot of us can feel the implant at the bottom under our breast babe, whether you have unders or overs, it's nothing at all to be concerned about and is completely normal.
But as always if you're overly concerned about ANYTHING, take advantage of the aftercare you payed or and seek advice from your surgeon and ALWAYS get your concerns noted. xx

I know you're wanting a response from xaxa babe and I'm sorry for butting in, I'm sure xaxa will be along shortly though. in my opinion though sweetie, just like any women checking her breasts for lumps on the breast, they should always be checked out babe - Go and see your surgeon/nurse and get them to take a look for you. xx

Hi Cookie,
I'll contact my pcc and get her to arrange something. I prefer to be told its nothing than to panic over it... Have to admit i'm a little scared.

I wouldn't worry too much hun, yes it's best to get it checked but you are only 10 days post op so it could be fluid from swelling, which will eventually absorbed by your body. As you are so early in your healing it's also normal for your boobs to feel different to each other as it's two seperate operations done at the same time. They should feel much softer and more normal in a few months.

Sorry for the late reply Alex Remember that your boobs just went through a trauma and many side-effects are possible. It could be just a fluid-filled sac of tissue which grows right within the breast tissue. I'm sure it's not a dangerous cyst. I agree with cookie and misf, I would definitely talk to my surgeon about it, there's nothing to be scared of. All he could give you is some cream, pills or a massage to do at home... nothing painful. When is your next check-up with him?Alex-C wrote:Xaxa, its on the top of the breast and its a small bump/lump

Re: submuscular implants? Why can i feel them!?
Hey loobs, im doing good apart from a few issues. My scaring seems a bit weird, one is a perfect line (although not fully healed) and the other seems to be over lapping? Cant really explain it but im going to see the nurse tomorrow to speak to her and then probably ask to see the surgeon ASAP. How are you recovering?

Oh really, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope it. Will be ok and they will say its early days and your scar is just a bit raised?
How are you with the HP? Are you happy with how they look or are u going to talk to the PS about this too. I wonder if they didn't use the mods because they were too wide for your chest?
Xx

Re: submuscular implants? Why can i feel them!?
Hey loobs, they don't look too bad, i guess giving my measurements and to ensure i got my C cup he thought hp would be better. I'll end up chatting to him about it end of this month.
Went to see the nurse yesterday and she was surprised at how quickly i have healed, according to her my incisions look 3 weeks old instead of 2. My scabs have started falling off (yay) its really hard not to fight the temptation not to pick at them but Im being good and controlling the urge, after all i want a minimal scaring. Starting to feel a little like my old self but with a little more confidence.

Hey Alex,
Yes good point with the profile and cup size, Ive been looking at some HP ones and theres not a massive difference really is there.
Thats really good, you must look after yourself well if you have healed so quickly! Did you take arnica at all? I did, dont rate it myself.
You know what im not feeling myself either, must come to us all, I cant even discribe how i feel, just not "me" strange isnt it?
xx

Re: submuscular implants? Why can i feel them!?
I was advised to take it but didnt bother, luckily enough didnt need it either.
Also to update on bump, it was a muscle knot, went away with gentle massaging. I have found that they are really soft now for 17 days post-op, still high but much softer to the touch.
How are you coming along in your healing process??
