Question for hairdressers Empty Question for hairdressers

Post by Katyflo 4th April 2012, 9:26 pm

I was wondering if there are any hairdressers on here who have had a BA? I know it's not exactly the most strenuous of jobs but is it a real problem working after, what with blow drying and lifting your arms up all day? I'm just wondering realistically how much time I'd need off.

I'm not a hairdresser I do admin lots of typing etc. I went back to work after 2 weeks off. I was ok but it was still very tireing. Just make sure you do no heavy lifting.

Hi, nope, I haven't got mine booked yet, I'm still saving up and trying to find out as much as I can first. I'm pretty certain I'm gonna go for it tho. I figured I'd have a week off at least. I was worried about driving aswell coz it a while before you can do that too isn't it and it's a 20 min drive to work for me.

Im pre BA so can't say much but I would give yourself 2 weeks off imagine being tired etc Whilst having to concentrate on cutting someone's hair. best give yourself enough time to get your strength back up. I'm not going to be able to work for ages coz both my jobs involve heavy lifting, disco equipment and antiques. Grrrrrr it's annoying. Xx

Hey hon. Also, you need to consider as a hair dresser you're going to be up and walking around a lot. After your BA you'll get tired really quickly, esp if you're on yor feet all day!

Hey Hun,

I am office based, I had 2 weeks off, this was enough time for me, but you do get tired easily.

I didn't drive for about 3 - 4 weeks after my BA, I did try but found the seat belt irrated my boobs and my arms got tired quickly.

However you maybe fine, we all heal at different rates.

I never even thought about getting tired easily at all! God, I get distracted easily enough as it is when I'm trying to make polite conversation with people who are a bit difficult anyway, that will make it loads harder! Looks like I'll have to take two weeks off. Oh well, I won't be able to afford a proper holiday after anyway so I'm just gonna make the most of it.
