Any hairdressers?
Hi lady's, sorry to create a new topic but I couldnt find my answer through searching.
I'm a hairdresser so as you know I'm constantly using my arms so I'm worried 10 days off work may not be long enough? My surgeon said to have two weeks off but couldn't tell me for deffinate if my boobs would stop me from hairdressing, would love some replys from hairdressers who have been in my position, thanks in advance :) xx

My sisters a hairdresser, though not had a ba, but you may do d after 10 days your ok but I would play it by ear, maybe take 2 weeks off just to be on the safe side, it will be quite uncomftBle to have your arms raised quite a lot of the day. You may find you ache after a days work . And holding a HAIRDRYER you may find a struggle especially with using it for styling. X

It's hard to say hun, you may be ok xx It will probably take you longer though to style hair for the first few weeks as you will probably need to take a few seconds rest every now again whilst doing someone's hair xx

Thanks a million for your replys, I know it's a tough one to answer really, as long as you don't think I'm working too soon and it's not possible to dislodge damage or even slow down the healing process?!. Xx

Re: Any hairdressers?
If you do too much you may slow your healing process and become very sore. I would see how you feel after 10 days. Could you maybe go back doing half days for the first two or 3 days and ease yourself into it?

Yeh deffinately, it's why I chose January, it's always the most quiet month but I've got a wedding in, 4bridesmaids on the 19th jan ( op is on the 10th), think I'll just work one day in then have a day off from there. I'm having overs and I here the recovery time can be less? But I understand everyone heals different. Xx

Re: Any hairdressers?
I was fine after 10 days and I had overs, when I went back to work I was fine (but then I work in an office). The days do take it out of you, but because you will be quieter then you should be fine
Re: Any hairdressers?
I trained in hairdressing although I don't do it for a living I would personally say at least 2 weeks but that's from my own healing point of view xx
