Saline, Silicone and Aftercare!
Hi there
Some more questions to the experts out there!!
Which implant is better - silicone or saline?!
Can you recommend any questions to ask regarding their aftercare policy and what will be included, there seems so much be great to have some questions to ask regarding the aftercare policy?
Thanks Rachel xx

Re: Saline, Silicone and Aftercare!
In the UK it is difficult (not impossible) to get saline, as the mosst used implants in europe are silicone. So in that case how experienced the surgeon will be in using saline would also be a problem in my opinion. From doing research on implants if you are worried about rupture, the implants on the market today are so much less likely to leak silicone into your body than they used to. This is because silicone today is much more cohesive (thicker). If you want something that will definatey not leak or bleed, it may be wise to go with the newest type of implants which are the gummi bear/jelly baby type of gel implants, they are nicknamed this because even if you cut them in half, the implant keeps its shape and the gel inside doesn't move, these implants are available in the allergan inspira soft touch gel implants and the nagor impleo implants to name but two well used implants in the UK. These type of implants will be slightly firmer than the allegan responsive which also has a thick gel that shouldn't leak out, but there is a small chance of gel bleed if the shell is ruptured, but the change of the 3 layers of shell rupturing is also very small. So in my opinion the silicone implants on the market are very good and the saline do have a higher chance or rupture and it is a lot more noticeable when they do, as it is instant implant deflation.
I'm not saying silicone is better than saline, I've not had both and I'm not medically trained. It is all opinion.
As for aftercare you want to know how long they will cover you if any complication should arise and will they cover all the surgery costs? Some offer a few months others offer years. The implants are often covered for rupture for 10 years or lifetime and you will get free implants only if they rupture or in some cases if you get very bad capsular contracture, you will need to know what guarantee your implant will have. Implants can cost between £100 for budget ones and £600 for preimium ones, when the op costs between £3500 and £6000 and the only amount they will take off is the cost of the implant, you need to know how long surgery costs will be covered for.
There is a consultation questions thing here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
which you can print off and fill in with your surgeon, saves you forgetting to ask anything anddd if you write down the answers during your consultation you wont forget what was said after.
I compeletely recommend taking pictures of boobs you like with you to show the surgeon the look you want, it's so much easier than trying to explain in bra sizes, as his/her idea of a certain size may be totally different to yours.

Re: Saline, Silicone and Aftercare!
Thanks so much for your response, that's brilliant! Great advice, I am pretty sure that Mrs Kat uses the Allergan implants too. The questionnaire is super and I shall be taking it with me. Yes I have looked through photos on the web but seen no pictures that have really inspired me. Because I have large breasts now and need an uplift and implants, I am hoping to find some ladies on here that have had the same procedure or have the same breast size, I think I will be looking to go to 36FF and fill it, now I am 36F but they are sagging so much, I cannot wait to have a 'full' breast and 'fill' a bra!!! Be great to see some pictures and hopefully I will be able to get some before my final consultation. Thanks so much for your advice xx
