Re: Good Luck hlt67!
Thank you for all of your support.
Lulu - Yes they did know about my bp. At my consultation with Mr Hassan, he said he'd make sure I'm first then when they called to say what time I had to be at there and said 11am I mentioned what Mr Hassan had said and she told me that they have no control over the list. I spoke to my pcc and she said the same, and that the only time she has control is when someone is diabetic. Yesterday, at the end of the day when the anaesthetist came to see me, I asked if I could be first when I go back for the op, he said he would make sure I am and he said he would make sure Mr Hassan knows too. Mr Hassan came in to see me, he was so lovely and disappointed himself. My head was like mush after he said he couldn't go ahead with the op but I think he said the earliest is 6 weeks. I do want new boobs and I will wait until my bp is right. I cried last night and had a few tears this morning

Even though it's a bitch to be let down at the 11th hour, I would feel very glad that I had such a professional anaesthetist Helen. When he finally agrees to put you under for the ps to do his work, you can drift off happily knowing you're in safe hands.
A few weeks feels like a lifetime when you're waiting but will pale into insignificance in the long term.
Keep us posted about your new schedule and try not to feel too down hun. It's a glitch not a complete crash!

Mr Hassan and the anaethetist were lovely. The said they'll make sure I'm first next time. Gutted !!! xx
Understandably you're upset sweetheart But your health is far more important than anything else and it's good that you were so well monitored pre-op, ensuring not only your saftey but also offering comfort that you're in good hands babe.
Hopefully you'll get the OK very soon and as your surgeon said, be first on that list!

Re: Good Luck hlt67!
:( Helen that must be awful
I was admitted at 11.30 and had to wait until 6.30pm for my op. If I had waited all that time only to be told they wouldn't do it.. I would have been so so upset and disappointed. I would be a sad zombie person.
Hope you're ok.

Re: Good Luck hlt67!
loobs - I can't explain how I'm feeling, disappointed, upset, gutted, but glad they explained why they couldn't go ahead
I've had no appetite at all today, felt so low. Been to the docs and he said he'll monitor me for 24 hrs again, this machine monitors me for 24 hrs every 1/2 hr in the day and every hour throughout the night. This will determine whether my bp has gone up again or whether is was white coat syndrome, if it's my bp I'll have to have my meds increased, if wcs the anaesthetist can give me something to calm me down. I still can't understand my bp being up as I was very chilled lying on the bed all day. Oh well!! Like someone said, all good things come to those who wait!! lol xx

True Sue! Both Mr Hassan and the anaesthetist were brilliant with me. They had time for me to explain why. I'm just looking forward to eventually having my new boobs xx

They'll be worth the wait hun. You have the patience of a saint. Fingers crossed it's white coat syndrome (although imagining them all naked probably wouldn't help!). Hugs x

I'm really sorry to hear that your BA was postponed at the last minute, but like the other ladies have said, well done on your surgeon and anesthetist for making the right decision to postpone.

Hey Helen,
Oh yes I know the machine youre talking about, I hope it was just white coat syndrome and you dont have to have meds because will that mean you will have to wait even longer?

Re: Good Luck hlt67!
My bp was higher when I got to the hospital yesterday, but not high enough for concern, but it's never usually high, and it was down to nerves. I really hope you get your day soon, and keep an eye on your bp, and see your gp. It may well be white coat syndrome, in which case it wouldn't have helped if they'd kept you waiting the other day xxx
