I dont know but I would hazard a guess at it helps keep swelling to a minimum and allows gravity to work at all times?? I guess if you laid flat on your back then the implant could settle and adhere and make you a funny shape but by sleeping upright gravity is always having an effect shapewise? If that makes sense? Xx

Yeah that makes sense. I hope the first week flies by cos I'm going to hate sleeping upright grrr!! x

Trisha - How you feeling?

hlt - I thought I would do too....but it's not too bad....plus the co codamol help hugely!!! I suffer with my neck a lot when I am sleeping and can never get my pillows right to support my neck enough or too much....sleeping sitting up has it's benefits as my neck feels great!!!

Trisha......not long now!! How exciting!!! How do you feel? Are you all ready?? If you can, change your bed before you go so you have a nice clean pit to loll around in!!!

Yes I'm already got everything I'll need just been now and got plenty of food shopping and easy thing for hubby to cook for kids and I lol I'm in for a shock cos hes never cooked a thing in his whole 32 years of life lol or should I say I will not let him loose in my kitchen lol yes I changed my beds once a week change day is normally on a Monday but there getting done tomorrow instead! Errrm I'm not sure how I feel I don't think I've had time to be or get excited been very busy getting sorted! I did have a little wave of excitement earlier on today but just for a minute lol I am a bit nervous tho so that's maybe why I can't get excited lol I WISH I WAS EXCITED xxxx

omg! babe I went out w the boy last night and had one beer I hope that doesn't cause me any harm it was only one beer...I'm trying to keep busy and going so I don't have much down time to get all freaked out....

trisha I'm looking forward to a week of sleeping in..I could use the little time off from both jobs :)

ha ha Flower! I too was looking forward to a week of mooching around and lying in!! Today is a week since I had my op and I am still enjoying the mooching around but the house is getting more and more disorderly and I look such a state!!! My friend has so kindly been and done my hair again for a second time! I have naturally curly hair but I have it cut in a short straight bob - so it is really high maintenance!! I also like my make up but haven't bothered wiith my hair or make up over this last week!!! I'm off for my post op check tomorrow so need to turn up to hospital looking a bit decent!!! I have also thrown a little strop about the state of the house, so my brother (who is temp living with us!) has just hoovered the whole house and is now off to get stuff in for dinner tonight!!Men!! They have to be cajooled into everything don't they??? Or is it just me???

Oh great WTF am I going to do ? My husbands work has called him away just 5 days after my op WTF am I gonna to soooooooo stressed now this isn't good for me at the minute how am I going to get to my post op check ? And kids to and from school arrrrr kids I've got 3 that's gonna need looking after oh good god what a time to have leave me oh well I'll just have to get on with it !!! As useual lol

Trisha - My eldest daughter was having a week off work to help me with my four year old but now she's told me she's only booked 4 days off arghhhh!! Luckily when I have my BA my little one is off school on easter hols. I'm hoping my 17 yr old son will lend a hand but I don't think he's not too happy I'm having this op. He may come round like he did when I found out I was pregnant with little one lol. How old are your kids?

Aw, that's annoying, though some women go back to work after 4 days so if the kids aren't too small they should be ok??

I'm on a business trip thing for work. Not goin home now til after my BA. I hope I've got everything sorted :S

My kids are 4,5&8 not baby's but still need the odd but wiped lol and drinks making ect ect and I've got a quiet big house to keep clean and tidy HELP lol there school is very close actually it's right around the corner literally! But I don't do walking early in the morning let alone just days after a op I don't mind walking to get them as by then I would of gathered my self together lol I'm soooooo not happy right now and we never leave one another now he's going to be in a different country thousands of miles away I feel like crying right now and I'm missing my best friend already normally he takes me with him but obviously I can't fly this time WEEP!!!! Lol xxx

:( can you get your mum or a friend to come and help. At least he'll be there for the 1st 5 days.

lulu - I was looking forward to having my eldest daughter having a week off work. She moved out in January, so I do miss her although she's only ten minutes down the road, she works a lot so would have been nice to have her with me for a week lol.

Trisha - You will need some help. Do you have a friend that can help you? or family? Luckily I do have my parents, although I've not told my dad I'm having the op yet oops! lol and my aunt has offered to help too. I'm so independent I don't like asking for people's help.

Lulu no not in a million years lol no one knows I'm having my boobs done my mother is gonna kill me if she finds out ( no joke ) she's going to bf very mad at me and only my hubby and sister inlaw knows and she live about 150 miles away so I'm pretty much on my own from day 5 fingers grossed I'll be ok xx I'll just have to take my time with everything xxx
