Re: March buddies
Hi Flourella
I was thinking the same thing, I have a five and a three year old. I'm starting to think about it more as the day approaches. I feel guilty about anything going wrong since it's elective, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm nervous about it too.
But this is routine for them, they do this everyday, you will be monitored the whole time. Plus it'll be a nice buzz to wake up to, a bit of a drunken feeling

Re: March buddies
I'm on the 22nd March - less than 2 weeks!
I'm a vet so the GA is not scaring me too much - I should probably be more scared cos I know more about it!! (it's safer if it's elective cos you'er fit and healthy - not sick )
I can't wait - i keep looking down my cast and seeing these horrid dark hairs - my tweezers won't fit down any further!!
xx

Re: March buddies
Hey Roxanne!
Luluthefirst as you're a vet, what happens when they give the GA to animals? How quickly is it to reverse? A friend of mine said her cat needed its teeth cleaned so they gave it a GA. Can't be that risky if it's being given for a quick tooth brushing lol
Apparently they can give you something to calm you down before you have it lol I'll be having a few doses!
Anyone having trouble dropping off at night? Boob job day is all i think about and i lie there thinking..."Imagine it's tomorrow..." probably not that healthy haha!
I'm certain we'll be fine... Just need it to be the day, it's the waiting that's getting to me as you say.
Where are you both having yours done?

Re: March buddies
I'm going to Highgate in London with Harley Medical.
Uhh, I don't know how similar GA protocols are in people and animals but I think they're pretty similar.
1st We give a premed (in animals it's an injection but people can have tablets or they might just put it straight in the cannula) The premed is a sedative and a pain killer
Then when it's sleepy we put the cannula in and inject the anaesthetic, they fall asleep pretty quickly. There's 3 or 4 different types of these and they all last different amounts of time (from 10mins - 30mins)
If they'regoing to be asleep for a while we put a tube in their windpipe (partly so we can breath for them if they crash) and attach then to a load of tubes which provide oxygen and anaesthetic gas
The gas is carefully controlled so that they're only just asleep. It takes 2 or 3 minutes for them to regain consciousness. Then when they can move their tonge and/or swallow, we remove the tube (as if they're sick they need to be able to prevent the vom goinginto their lungs)
I don't know if they botehr tubing people for BA as the actual op is so quick they might just use a mask. I think it varies, but the tube will give you a bit of a sore throat.
Sadly animals won't sit still for a scale and polish!! much more dangerous to do if they're awake! xx

Hey Salmac! I have pm'd you! See if you can reply to that? Xx
Oh girls, I keep thinking that I cant wait to wake up and its all done.... Just not looking forward to being put under :((( scared about being at the mercy of other people taking care of me!!! Funny that my little boy has had between 30-40 GAs in his 6 little years but its not that I'm scared about waking up, I'm more scared about being out of control!!!
So, only 2 more sleeps for me! I havent had one nightmare about it but am feeling very unsettled at the moment and just want the weekend to go now!!! Still cant believe that I will go through with it!!!! Ha ha!!!

Flourella, I'm going to St John & Elizabeth through Mybreast, and my surgeon is Simon Withey.
Luluthefirst, that's interesting, I wonder if they'll put a tube in my mouth since I'm also having an uplift and mini tt, so my op will take quite a bit of time.
Two days Nepoly, how exciting Plus I can't wait to hear about your surgery, especially since we're at the same hospital! xxx

Re: March buddies
Exciting.....?!?!? Do you know I can't tell you all of the feelings and emotions I have right now!!! It's very strange!!! I kinda guess it must be a bit like if you are booked in to have a c section in that you are both looking forward to it and fearing it at the same time but you know afterwards it will all be worth it!!!! I went into labour 9 weeks early with my first and a couple of days early with my second so I was very much taken by surprise so had no time to think about it!!
Its just all very weird!!! Especially as i am telling a big fat lie to the world in that, i suffer with back problems and so on Sunday day apparently my back is going to go into spasm again and render me in bed for at least a week....after which time if I am walking a little carefully and not looking so mobile then it is because my back isnt quite right...... Tee hee!!! What a story!!!! Hilarious!!!
And no one will notice any difference in me cos I've been wearing my rice buddies practically every day :)))) sneaky sneaky huh??

Wowee Trisha 11 days?? It'll fly by!!! I'm not sure how i feel!! It changes every second!!! At the mo i am excited.... But then a fear of dread can wash over me in a second and I wonder what I am doing and if its all a dream??? Like a 'how did that all happen????'.... I was only contemplating it a few days ago and now i'm one and a half days away!!!! ARRRRGGHHH!!! See! Here comes the fear of dread again!!!!
Yep! My faithful rice buddies!!! Wish i'd discovered them years ago!!! Would have saved embarassing situations with material chicken fillets sliding up??? (wtf???) and rubber chicken fillets making me sweaty And sliding around!!! They make a nice change!!! Hahaha!!! But, hopefully, i shant miss them!!! And will be able to hug people without fearing that 'creaking' feeling from within the bra!!!! Tee hee!!!
So, how you feeling Trisha? Are you all prepared? I just need a wee trip to Boots and a few 'dodgy tummy feeling' supplies... I.e cheesy wotsits and pepsi for post op queasy snacks and i'm DONE!!! Woo hoo!!!!

Re: March buddies
Good luck Nepoly, are you going to take your laptop with you and update us all as soon as you can?
One thing that I wonder about is the time differences surgeons say the proceedure will take - Mya told me 20 mins, Transform told me 15(?!) and Holly House (who I'm going with) told me 1hr 15!
So strange...would rather they took their time though.
Anyone having partial unders?

Re: March buddies
Hey girlies! Sorry I've not been on here for a few weeks, was really nervous as new boobie day was getting closer and my work was mental, so just shut down and focused on getting it all done.
Well I got my new boobies on Thursday and I'm really pleased! Just recovering in bed now, only a little bit of a twinge every now and then but more or less ok and not too sore, seem to have some trapped air bubbles happening, weird! , hope it stays that way and gets better fast so I can start doing stuff. It's my birthday on 13th march as well so I'm hoping I'll be ok to go out for dinner or at least have a glass of wine in the house lol!
For anybody still to get it done, trust me you have nothing to worry about! I'm a total woose and it was ok for me! Although they had to put the "magic cream" on the back of my hand for the cannula lol!
Feeling very bloated now also, hope I start to get back to normal soon.
Take care ladies xxx

Re: March buddies
Hiya, I started off a 32B, I'm a size 6 petite, 5 ft tall. I'm now in a 34E sports bra but to be honest it's not tight on me so I reckon I'm about a DD which is what I wanted so I'm really chuffed!
I had my surgery via Transform at the BMI Ross Hall hospital in Glasgow, my surgeon was Dr Jim Kirkpatrick. I went in on Thursday and I was absolutely sh***ing myself, the nurses calmed me down, so nice, I got a visit from the anaesthetist and the surgeon beforehand and my other half was with me all the way down to theatre. The last I remember is being in the room next to the theatre on the bed, they put the cannula in the back of my hand then I started crying saying I was scared and then the next thing I knew i heard someone say my name then I opened my eyes still on the same bed in the same room with an oxygen mask on, I thought they hadn't done it yet!! I asked if I'd been done and they said yes then lifted my head up a bit so I could see them, I was so happy! The surgery took 2 hours!! He put 380cc in me!! After that I was just away with the fairies with the morphine, when I went back up to the room my other half was there and I remember telling him how horny I was and wanted to do naughty things to him lol!!! Then I fell asleep... Haaha! I was sore the next morning, they gave me tramadol but it made me as if I was drunk so it was decided I wasn't to get any more lol! So that's me home now and my other half is running about after me was him!
I'm so pleased I did it! Nothing to worry about, trust me!

@ Dizzy-rice buddies are my trusty rice boobs i made! They're great!!! I bought a 34c bra which is the size i want to be and then made 300cc rice boobies and have been wearing them at every opportunity so people get used to seeing me like it and if I'm lucky enough to fluff and be larger it can all be down to a very good enhancing bra!!!
@barbiegirl-fab fab story! I cant stop reading it!!! I'm so pleased that it went so well for you! Even the anasthetic seemed a breeze which is what i most dread!!! Happy healing!!! I look forward to following your progress xxx

Re: March buddies
Hi Neopoly you'll be fine, but yes it's best to get everything done beforehand like all the washings and housework n stuff as there's no way you can do anything afterwards. One thing I would also recommend is to make sure everything in the kitchen (milk, cups, biscuits etc) are at work top level. I tried to make a cup of tea yesterday, I put the kettle on, got a tea bag and spoon, was well chuffed, until i opened the fridge and noticed the milk was up high!! I couldn't get it so I just had to do without the tea, the only thing I could reach was the crisps.
I was all sore and stiff this morning but managed to get up and start moving around, had some weird sensations in both boobs too. My belly is all swollen too and I've not properly been to the toilet yet so feeling all bagged up. I'm wearing the only pair of button up front jammies I could find to buy which are bright pink muppets jammies with animal all over them, my hair needs washed too, I basically look like I've just crawled out a bin lol! But apart from that all is well lol!
I'm going for a sleep now, suddenly felt knackered for no reason.
Also it just occurred to me today, the surgeon never drew lines on me before the op, maybe he's just that good he doesn't need to mmm! Well they look good anyway, I took my bra off last nite and thought they were going to fall off they were so heavy!
I hope I heal fast, Ive no patience and im desperate to buy nice bras!
