Under the Muscle rupture rate??? Empty Under the Muscle rupture rate???

Post by ktmqueen 8th January 2012, 4:53 pm

I have under the muscle implants.... not requested but just done.... and they have ruptured. I am sat waiting for the apt to return to Transform. They were fitted in 2005 and I will fight all the way. In 2007 I started with chest pains and breathlessness, diagnosed with anxiety off GP later referred to gastro, still under them but when I mentioned implants my cons laughed at me told me to get a proper bra fitted as chest pains nothing to do with it. 2 years later same consultant gastro sent for biopsy for Celiacs due to chest pain inability to wear a bra for 4 years and palpatations lethergy ect. Neg so did ECG negative,,,,, then I discovered some lumps in armpits, breast clinic did an ultrasound on NHS they diagnosed "snow storm" rupture and sent me away to go back to my surgeoun at Transform...... How long has this been going on... when does my after care expire I dont have a clue. Transform 2010 onwards give a 10 year warranty but before that I have no idea. I have suffered and will continue to and this is beyond a joke. I never asked for submuscular and on reflection this is the worst position as Im fit and active and muscular so they have squeezed me to death for 5 years!!!!!

Is there a link with sub muscular and rupture please comment if you have had this or not.....

Under the Muscle rupture rate??? Empty Re: Under the Muscle rupture rate???

Post by John Pereira 8th January 2012, 9:32 pm

Hi There

Im one of the surgeons on the site with a special interest in the PIP problem. I never put them in because I was worried about their quality and am helping as many women as possible through this time. There is much controversy over the PIP rupture rate and no reliable data regarding under vs over rupture rate in PIP. With other implants there is no significant difference in rupture rates to my knowledge, but some studies show less CC with submuscluar vs subglandular implants. I am sorry you have PIPs with thsi problem - Transform is your first stop - if you need any advice you can PM me and I will try to help.

Under the Muscle rupture rate??? Empty UNDER THE MUSCLE PIP IMPLANTS TOO!

Post by Ann Povall 12th January 2012, 1:07 pm

Hi All, I have just joined the site. I found out yesterday from Transform that the implants I had put in in 2004 are PIP! At first I was a bit stunned as the news sunk in, I wouldn't have been that concerned but for the fact that I have swollen lymph glands and nodes also. I was referred to a specialist breast clinic here in Liverpool last year. They carried out a very careful ultrasound but could find no rupture? there appears to be no other reason why these glands and nodes are swollen, blood tests etc; I am now very worried and am too awaiting my appt with Transform. I note that the head of Transform has said that it is not their fault as they believed the implants to be ok but how can they be when the MHRA did not do their job properly. We are now left in the situation that if we have symptoms we can have them removed for free whoopee!!! BUT has anybody realised the psychological impact this will have on us women (no, except for Wales, lucky girls in Wales!!). Anyway I cannot afford to replace them and I don't see why I should foot the bill for 'someones' negligence. I had this op in good faith!!!!!!!!!!!! I fully support legal action and I WILL be looking into.

Under the Muscle rupture rate??? Empty Re: Under the Muscle rupture rate???

Post by lucilocket 24th March 2012, 9:04 am

Hi i had my first ba in 2004 with transform 310 under the muscle pip implants. For the past year i have been extremely ill 2 hospital admissions severe haeadaches, extensive bruising and terrible achy bones i felt like an 80 year old woman but they couldn't find nothing wrong with me started on loads strong painkillers co codamol 30/500 tramadol 100mg amptriptaline 20mg and gabapentin 300mg. Had removal of implants 3 days ago as was wanted pip ones out of my body only to find the left had rupture in a bad way i have them at home r is really clear left is yellow and all white liquid goo inside and chunks missing from implant i had no idea that it had ruptured. since removal of implants i feel like a different person no headaches more energy and only takin pain killers for breast discomfort due to surgery i feel amazing my face and eyes are not bloated it is shocking to think that a ruptured implant made me this ill i am now going through transform to try and get my money back as had to pay 2500 for this surgery they are saying i wouldn't have had a 10 year guarentee in 2004 mmmmm so we will see>. it is absolutely lovely to wake up and feel 39 and not 79 happy happy x

There isn't a 10 year guarantee with transform now. They cover you for 3 years and the implant guarantee covers 10 years so you get free replacement implants. U still have to pay for the op.
