Im 11 days post BA

The nurse at the surgery center said I could go back to wearing a normal bra already.. I kind of thought that it might be to soon.. How long after surgery till you switched back to wearing a normal underwire bra?

and I know everyones boob heal and drop different so I was wondering.. How long did it take for your boob the drop and "fluff" after surgery?

Just curious two questions 48411

You need to check with your surgeon about the bras, my particular surgeon wants us to start wearing underwires at 3 months.

Its usually 6 months for them to drop and fluff maybe it could take a little more time but if u have overs its not always that you do fluff.

I had mine done the same day as you and I have been told no underwires till at least 3 months. I can start introducing bras with no underwire but the sports bras are quite comfy and even putting the underwire on for a couple of mins to take my Avatar pic was long enough!!xx

I was advised to wear my sports bra for 6 weeks, I'm currently on week 5 po but think I will more than likey wear it for longer as my boobs still feel slightly firm, although they have dropped slightly, but don't think they have fluffed at all. Xxx

I've been told that I am expected to wear a sports bra for 6 weeks and that I can start introducing wired bras thereafter, assuming all healing ok, but I am still pre-BA so not there yet.

I was allowed to start wearing normal underwire bra's after my 6 week check-up. I'm fluffed and dropped, started at about 7 weeks. Really hope I fluff a little more. Weirdest thing tho, when I measure my boobs in the morning, they are 35" around, in the evening they measure at 36". Just weird.

wavey My ps says he asks we wear a sports bra until they drop to where we want them then wear a tight underwire for the rest of the initial 3 month period to tell them to STOP DROPPING!! Lol! But you're surgeon will be the one to tell you as he was the one who disected your pockets and knows what you have to work with...xxx Heart

I was told 6 weeks of sports bra, and then went I went for my 6 week check up surgeon said I was fine to start wearing normal bras and that underwired ones might help compress the scars. They're not particularly raised, but I know he's after the best possible outcome for me, which I love about him! As the other girls have said, you're best off asking the person who operated on you - they know best.

Im pre ba and sooo worried about sagging!!! At the moment I'm thinking i'll live in a sports bra, i love them and with big boobs i'll be fine without padding! Even happy to sleep in them as mine now are so comfy!

However... after 6 week of wearing one 24/7 im sure all this will change and i'll be dying for underwires

I started wearing wires at 3 months post op, but wore non wires from 6 weeks. I am still wearing a sports bra to bed though as I am so worried they will sag again and I'll end up back where I started!

Mine have dropped gradually over the last few months and think they are now probably where they will end up...though wouldn't mind a bit more fluffing!! Lol xxx
