Unders or overs?
Hi Ladies
I just wanted to get your advice regarding unders or overs. I don't have much skin above my breasts also I can fit my whole hand in between them. They seem to sit fairly far apart which worries me that if I had a ba they would still be really far apart. It really bothers me, although I do manage to get some sort of cleavage when I have the right bra on. (although my nipples still sort of point towards my arm pits when they are pushed together.) I hope i am making some sense lol sorry.
What determines whether you have unders / overs and do different ps favour different methods?
Any advice would be appreciated

Re: Unders or overs?
The amount of breast tissue is what will determine if you should have overs or unders. If you want to reduce the gap, it may be possible with wide implants, but you would need to specifically discuss this with your surgeon
Re: Unders or overs?
Katie your avatar could easily be me before the kids, back in the day when I loved how my boobs looked! They've gone south since, don't think I could pull it off without a bra anymore hence the uplift.
Your breasts already look like a beautiful shape, though I'm biased as you can see from what I just wrote . Basically with implants they should look similar to what you already have but bigger. So if your nipples are far apart they still will be. I used to get killer cleavage with the right bra btw. I personally like them being naturally apart without a bra, but able to create great cleavage with a bra, I like having the choice.
You can get more cleavage and boobs closer together with the right implants though, mention it to your PS. You'll need wider implants I believe, but if your nipples are far apart they still will be.
I have very little to pinch in my upper pole, even less so now than before. My PS recommended partials because of this. But we decided against it due to my mucles being really tight and strong. The con is that he doesn't want me to go big with overs due to higher risk of rippling, though it's fine with me, I don't want to be too big. BTW cleavage can be easier to acheive with overs, especially with tight muscles (in my case). Though again, this depends on individual anatomy, and pec muscles do loosen over time, unders just take longer to settle.
This is very individual, and it's really important to discuss all this with your PS. He should listen to your concerns so you can figure out what's best for you. There are pros and cons to both options either way. xxx

Re: Unders or overs?
That made me laugh!! "back in the day" Thank you hahaha, I was very weary of putting the photo on as it shows everything I hate about them already lol. Thank you for the compliment on the shape :) Im only 22 and my bf says they arent saggy but he understands I want a ba and he said yesterday he hopes I can get it done cos he just wants me to be happy. Shame he wont pay for it tho :heehee:
I didnt think about it with regards to having the choice of cleavage so I suppose there is one positive I can get out of this!
I know this sounds stupid but how do you know if your muscles are tight? lol I may have exaggerated with regards to my nipples, I think it sounds as though they are under my armpits which they certainly are not lol but not as central as what I would consider as 'normal'.
still laughing at your comments hehe

Re: Unders or overs?
Just judging on your avi I know your breasts aren't under your armpits That photo could easily have been me at 22, seriously!
I have a muscular build, and very well developed pec muscles. I used to lift pretty heavy weights, but have toned it down recently. I assure you this isn't an issue for most women, I'm not the norm , and it's not a chance I'm willing to take with muscle distortion.
You may well be a good candidate for either placement, but until you've had a few consults you won't really know. xxx

Re: Unders or overs?
As the other girls have said this is something you need to discuss with your surgeon but I was offered different options dependant on who I saw.
Two of the three surgeons I saw (I liked these two) offered me overs as I have enough breast tissue to cover the implants. They both told me I was borderline uplift but that they felt I could achieve the result I wanted without the uplift. One said he would not do an uplift as I plan to have children. One of them said that I have quite high and tight pec muscles (I train quite alot) so unders would not work for me as the muscle could distort the implant.
The third surgeon told me I had to have an uplift and also had to have partial unders (they sit above the muscle and another layer that separates the muscle and the tissue) as I didn't have enough breast tissue and would get rippling. I didn't like that surgeon for various reasons (you can read my diary for the full details if you want them).
I was also told if having a straightforward ba you basically just get more of what you have got. So my tissue sits low in my breasts and my nipples are quite high, with implants they will sit a little lower than I probably expect them too but my nipples will still point in the same direction. The surgeon I have chosen believes I will be happy with the result as I don't want the stuck on look and having seen his work (lots of the girls on here have had him) I trust him.
The best advice I was given by the girls on here was to book a few consults so you can to get different opinions. They said I would know when I had met the right surgeon. They were so right, I knew instantly. In fact the surgeon I had booked into see before I found this site was the one I disliked and it is only because of the girls on here that I found the surgeon I am now going with!
