Thanks for all your help! I'll ask the consult lady next time she phones too! Anything between a DD and F would be amazing... preferably the larger end of the scale! Boob greed already!! Probably a good job my surgeon wont let me go any bigger haha xxx

Re: Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks
If you are having unders you may be quite small at first even with swelling. So its best to have them a little smaller in the cup than you think you will end up. If you go up a band size you need to come down a cup size. Plus you are used to a 34 band so with swelling I'd be tempted to get a 36band for comfort. So a 36dd and a 34e may be ok for straight after your op. As the swelling goes you can get fitted properly and get a proper fit. The sports bras are quite stretchy so you should have some give in them.steph999 wrote:Oh thats exciting!!!! didn't realise our stats were so similar! I'd be so happy with an E!!! Since I'm having 380's I might go for a 34 F.... Thank you!!!!! I always wear a 34 now... but I think we both should probably wear a 32 xxx

yes misf1, i am sure my boobs are bigger than they were straight after my surgery...... FAB! misf1, do you think i should be wearing a 32 band if i measure 31.5? Wondering if i should be wearing a 32F rather than a 34E??

It really does depend on what is comfortable. According to your measurements a 32f would probably be more supportive but if it cuts into your skin and you find a 34e is better and you still feel supported then just wear what you feel is right. Sometimes it depends on the make or shop.AmyD wrote:yes misf1, i am sure my boobs are bigger than they were straight after my surgery...... Re: Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks
Aurora, I've got a small Macom bra for sale if you'd like it - I put it in the For Sale bit on here a few weeks ago. I was a 32AA before I started and found the macom bra brilliant for the first two weeks, and then when the swelling went down it felt too large, so I moved on to sports bras.
Let me know if you'd like it

Steph , I got the high and med impact Tescos ones. The high ones are really supportive, the medium are still quite supportive and don't squish your boobs quite so much. Depending on how I feel when I get up depends on what support I have had for the the rest of the day. x

My surgeon told me to get a sports bra from Asda or Tesco. I've been wearing one from Asda and they have been fine.

Re: Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks
The problem I have is I am nowhere near a Tesco or Asda store and they don't seem to have the bigger sizes online - I am going to probably need a 34F and/or 36E!
Towie - which was the high support bra the nurse recommended?
Redhead - love your avi, I have that bra in hot pink, my OH bought it for me last Christmas, shame I won't be able to wear it after my op - thinking I might try and cut the padding out so it will still fit me lol!

i wear macom for sleeping (in small) and during the day 36F asda sports bra, as i find during the night the asda one digs into my incisions. xx

Thanks hun, I have a macom in medium so I think I will get a small as well. Didn't want to get just a small in case it digs in.
I live near a Decathalon sports store and they sent me a loyalty voucher so I might go and see what sports bras they have too.

Re: Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks
I am guessing that once the swelling goes down I will need a small.
Just had a look at the decathlon and they have various styles but there is one for £9.99 which looks perfect assuming they have the size I want...... will pop in after work and have a look as the sizes online look a bit weird. Think I will get a bra extender as well.

Re: Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks
Hey Aurora,
Initially I was using a shock absorber sports bra, 32d, but this was way to small so I bought a 34d but again this just felt too tight. So went for the Macom as well, it has no seams so will not irritate your incisions and it is so supportive. It also does up at the front so you will be able to do it up yourself. xxx

Re: Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks
Hi aurora
The nurse said to get a normal bra but one that has no wires and states full support it sits below the incisions but isn't as comfortable or feel as supportive as the Macom as that is specifically for post surgery , a friend recommended Macom after reconstructive breast surgery also .i hope this helps
