Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks Empty Which are the best bras from op date to 6 weeks

Post by Aurora1979 21st December 2011, 12:02 pm

So I am now on my month countdown to my op and need to get organised and start buying all the things I need.

My question is which are the best bras to wear directly after the op and for the 6weeks until I can wear wires gain (according to my pcc)?

My pcc has told me sports bras from asda, primark etc but I have looked at them and they are all low impact which doesn't seem right, also I don't really know what size I am going to need - probably 32E or F and 34 in the same.

Why do they not tell us to get MaCom bras which are designed specifically for post op girlies?

I got a medium Maco secondhand as I was unsure if I would be small or medium post op (I am 32 now so small). I have tried it on and it is soooo comfy with loads of room if I get swelling on my ribs. As it was so comfy I was planning to get another couple (if anyone has any for sale, pls let me know) in small for when the swelling has gone down but still need to sleep in them.

Was thinking of investing in shock absorbers once I know roughly what cup size I am going to be for when I go back to work so I know they are not going to fall off lol!

Anyway, all thoughts and advice greatfully received.

I got the cheap ones from asda(low impact), tesco (high impact) and a really expensive high imact one from JJB to take with me for after my op and they chose the ASDA one to put on me!!! This was the cheapest of them all ! I also got some after my op(as i needed bigger) from sports direct-Lonsdale ones which again were really cheap, and they looked quite nice too xxx

What sizes did you buy hun? I am a size bigger than your pre op size and having the next implant up from yours so I guess I will need 32 or 34 F?

I don't live near a Tesco or Asda so I would need to order them online

What is your post Op size please so I can get an idea of what I will need?

I guess if I go to 32F that I would need 36D? (up to band sizes so down two cups?)

I got the Asda high impact sports bras in a 34dd 36d and 36dd and then got a specialist post surgery bra called the z bra (which was the best support on my feeling like my boobs would fall off days) in a 34e. I managed really well with those. I had them in black and white. Z bra in black only. Don't wear black bras in the flaky skin stage its kinda gross. Looks like your boobs have really bad dandruff

Thanks Misf1!

You seem to be quite good on sizings - any recommedations on what I should buy size wise?

I am currently 31.5 under and 34.5 under so 32C.

I am going for 460 CMH. The pcc says I will be an E but judging from other people's results (I know everyone is different) I think I will be a 32F maybe so was going to buy a 32F and a 34F to allow for swelling - what do you think?

You will be quite swollen so I'd be tempted to get a 34f and maybe a 36e. You can go get a 32 band at a later date. You won't be getting into them or feeling comfy in a 32 for a few weeks. I didn't get in a 32 until 6 weeks post op

i may go and get measured in debenhams and see what they say as they're good apparently, you having overs or unders sweet? I had an anchor lift too which apparently reduces ur cup size by half, so effectively i dropped to a large B cup then went to an E...... would imagine you will end up an F cup..... 34F or 32G possibly? i'm wondering if i'm really a 32F Screwy xxx

If you are 31.5 under and a C then you must be 34.5 over (three inches difference = 3 cup sizes) so I would say you are the same as me at 32C (I am 34C in La Senza)

If 460 is going to take me to 32E-F I would guess the 380 will take you to 32DD-E but I am pretty new to this - think this is another question for Misf1
