Blotchy Breasts 1 week post-op from BA
Hi Ladies,
I'm new to this forum. Last Tuesday I had a BA which included me getting 400CC Saline behind the muscle with the incision in the crease of both my breasts (I was almost a small A prior to the augmentation). I've been taking it easy the entire week I was off, as well as taking the meds and antibiotics I was prescribed. Since yesterday, before I got into the shower, I noticed that both of my breasts, especially on the sides of them are a bit blotchy, almost rashy-like. My breasts do not hurt (more than they normally should right now for just having had a BA), they don't really even hurt to touch them (I was trying to rule out infection). I'm mean, they're still numb at this point, but that is to be expected since I am only 1 week out. As some of the other ladies on here said, the shiny-ness of the new breasts is completely normal as the skin is stretching and getting used to the implants (which I have the shiny boobs too), but what about the red-like blotchiness? Is this normal? I'm a little nervous as I hope nothing is going wrong inside there and that everything is healing fine...hoping it's not an infection or anything weird like that.
I have my second post-op appointment tomorrow evening with my PS, but I was wondering if any of you on here have experienced what I am talking about. Please let me know if anyone has some spare time to share your thoughts and advice with me. I am looking forward to any and all comments made.
Thanks for your support.
Thanks!
Y

Hi Alymomma,
I don't have personal experience with this but didn't want to read and run...I think your best bet is to get back to your PS. You say your follow-up is tomorrow? make sure you don't have a fever, (which would indicate an infection), maybe ring your clinic and ask them about your symptoms? Then if they aren't too concerned, your doc will check you out tomorrow. If they are, they'd have you come in immediately.
Good luck hun keep us updated.

Keep an eye on it. As you don't have any other infection symptoms I would be inclined to say it's nothing, but you should definitely check with your PS at your follow up. Is it hot to the touch? Are you feeling OK in yourself?xxx

Hi ladies,
Well, I called my PS and am going to see her after work today as I'm a little worried and don't want it to be anything major. They're not that hot to the touch, and honestly, I feel a little blah today - no energy (figures as this is the first day I returned to work since being off last Tuesday). No fever, but I just don't quite feel myself today...I'm not as chipper as I usually am...it's like I have the blues.

Hi ladies,
So I visited my PS yesterday...turns out the antibiotics they prescribed me, I was having an allergic reaction to...they told me to stop taking it, and since I haven't taken any since last night, the 'blotchiness' on the side of my breasts has gone away (not so pronounced as it was yesterday). I have another checkup with the PS tonight, so I'll post back to let you know what happens.
Thanks for your support! I was freaking out yesterday!

YAY so happy that's all it was! I had a bad reaction to the pain pills and totally freaked out but once I stopped taking them it went away!

Re: Blotchy Breasts 1 week post-op from BA
Thanks ladies! I had another appointment with my PS yesterday and he said everything is looking "beautiful and healing lovely," although after I left, I wish I would have asked him to take a peek under the steri-strips to see if the incision was healing normally...they've gotten a bit itchy these past couple of days. Of course I'm not scratching, however.
But geeze, I know it's only been 8 days since my BA, but I am still sore, tight and still am red and shiny. Still sleeping on my back, and it hurts to stand straight...been slouching a bit. I don't want to rush the healing process, but can't wait to be finally done with healing as well!!! Anyone else feel the anxiety for the healing period to be over with, or if you've had yours done for quite some time, do you remember feeling that way?

Oh and I wanted to ask...is the itchiness under the steri-strips a good sign that the incisions are healing? I know they're not infected as there is no pus or yellow stuff, they don't hurt (any more than they have been lol), or no foul odor...

I didn't personally have my incisions itch, but I know it's totally normal. I think mine are just numb LOL
But yes, I felt exactly the same way you did 1 week out. I still have freak outs - but it gets better!
Just to let you know, I was walking slouched over, and couldn't sleep on my side and my back was KILLING me until about 2 weeks PO I finally started walking with my shoulders back and sleeping on my side by week 3.
You're almost there hun!!

Oh, and I still have that "sunburned booby" feeling - it takes time for the skin to stretch hun!

Oh Hun,I feel so bad for you.Mine were very red and itchy for weeks. You can see it in my picture trail pics. They looked and felt slightly sunburned like Alexandra33 described.Gel ice packs helped me so much and I was allowed to take over the counter allergy antihistimine meds which really stopped the itching.
I hope you find some relief soon!
