1 Week Post Op
Hi,
This time last week I was resting at the Riverside after having my op in the morning and I have to say that I am feeling great! The first few days were really quite rough with a lot of strange feelings, pains and twinge's. Today is my first day without any pain relief which is great, however I do still get tired easily.
I am currently wearing a 34DD sports bra, however it is starting to feel a little tight and sometimes I find it hard to get a full breath in. The Nurse at the hospital chose the 34DD I had instead of the 34D and said that it would be fine, but I am starting to wonder if I should get a size up? Or are they supposed to be in a bit tighter and firmer?
I would really appreciate any help on this and has anyone else had to change their sports bra size up a week after their op?
Thanks :-)

Your bras should feel snug, but not at all 'tight' Alana and it certainly shouldn't be causing you any discomfort.
If the tightness is around the band which is VERY common due to swelling then you'd be better in a 36D hun.
If the tightness is around your boobs, then you'd better in a 34E.
As you're feeling good though, maybe a trip to the shops would be best to try a few bras on to feel how they fit hun.
You might feel a little sore after trying bras and your boobs may ache that night, but they'll be fine.
The band should be snug so you can fit no more than two fingers inside sweetie and any bulging or gaping on the cup and you need a size smaller if its gaping and and a size larger if your boobs are bulging.
Bra extenders with a back fastener are also a good idea, so if the bra you have on is a back fastener and the tightness is from around the band you could save yourself money by just buying these for around £3ish... I think M&S sell them and you'll start to feel a whole lot better then Alana. Xx

Hey, I had to go down a back size not up, only wore my medium macom for a day.
I am now in my small macom on the tightest setting. Might have to get a smaller size but not sure yet got review appointment on tuesday.

Hi,
Thank you cookie and rach. I am tight around the boobs so think I may pop to the shops at lunch tomorrow and try a size up to see if its any better. I just don't like the restricted breathing feeling xx

Re: 1 Week Post Op
You shouldn't be experiencing any restriction to your breathing Alana, so a larger bra will help.
Let us know how you get on won't you. Xx

I sometimes felt restricted in breathing but this was also because I was scared to breathe deeply lol! The bra should feel supportive but not leave indents on your skin... I would also suggest the Macom,. It's a bit pricey but you only need to know your back size and it's honestly amazing!!
Hope your feeling good with your new boobs :D xx

Yay that's great! You can have a shower! I think the twinges are a good sign the nerves are coming back together
I'm having my ba and lollipop lift a week on Wednesday - 9 days woohoo! You should join all us October buddies in the thread - no idea how to direct you to it!
