I am pretty sure i have this, had hands on my waist and leant back slightly, frig knows why lol and i felt like a thick vein so i followed it and it seemed to come from breast area and travels all the way down to my tummy? worried!
Re: Mondor's Cord
Hey dawn, I just read up on this and it says it's temporary and almost always goes away on its own.
If youre really worried you could call your PS hun.

Re: Mondor's Cord
Hay hun,
I have never heard of a mondors cord that long before but there is a 1st for evrything I guess!
A mondors cord is a angry vein that swells up and can cause quite a bit of pain after the op or if you over do it.......ice is the best way to calm the vein down and works wonders. It feels like..well a swollen vein, like a raised shoe string under the skin and can be painful to touch ( mine was terrible! and yes I cried when I had it!)
So if you have one and its painfull get the ice on it and it will go away
xx

Re: Mondor's Cord
Hey,
I had Mondors Cord Syndrome post op. It's something to do with the vein being cut off from a blood supply. You should feel like a string going down your ribs. It hurt me for a while when I lifted my arms up. It's not forever, take some painkillers is it's hurting. It will go away. There's nothing anyone can do x

AW hun Im the same with veins, I dont like them and they make me feel yuk.....if someone touches mine I go mad and I cant stand Vein pain like if you have a I.V in or how much it hurts after they take it out so the mondors cord was a killer for me....I couldnt move for 3 days as the pain made me feel sick so I just sat with ice till it went away

Re: Mondor's Cord
i just rang the hospital group and spoke to a sister in charge and she said it sounds like a nerve repairing to her, but i think she had no clue, but i am in 2moz to see the nurse so i hope she may know what it is, i dont think it is a nerve i think it is a vein, may cut it out in front of them to show them lol
Re: Mondor's Cord
This sounds exactly like what I have although I just thought it was from where my skin is tight around my scars,
I'm off to see PS on Sunday to get it checked as I was so worried it was something serious,

Re: Mondor's Cord
surgeon emailed me back regards it and said its a common thing after any breast surgery and it will go away on its own, mine doesnt hurt, slight pain on the vein around rib but apart from that its ok :)
Re: Mondor's Cord
Saw my ps today and confirmed this is what mine is, he's told me to take ibuprofen 3 times a day for 2 weeks and it should settle down,
I have about 4 separate ones at the moment, when I move in certain ways they poke out of the skin almost, very discusting to look at and sore,

Re: Mondor's Cord
I wish I couldn't see mine!! They look much worse than they feel!
The ibuprofen is supposed to help them heal and disappear,
