Best advise is do not reach out, stretch or pick up heavy objests.......if you pull your stitches in the 1st 2-3 weeks it will hurt like mad and make your healing time longer.......also just because you cant feel the pain dosnt mean your not doing damage, it could mean you just cant feel your doing the damage.... this could be because your numb from the nerves being cut in the op!

Best to rest and not do anything you have been told not to even if your pain free

I emailed my PS about 5 times when I got back because I forgot to ask stuff there! Hope you have a comfortable night too. I've woken up but I'm not in any pain, just can't sleep! Annoying! Xxx

Hi hon, firstly - congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the world of boobies :)

I considered post-op a 'forced vacation'. Don't try to do anything if you can help it, your body will heal much faster if you take it easy and don't irritate your incisions or implants.

Also keep in mind the painkillers can offer a false sense of security from time to time, I had moments where I thought 'hey, everything is fine' and then BAM!

Just put your feet up, you have spent a lot of money and you want the best results possible. The surgery is just the beginning of a fabulous journey :)

Happy healing!

Anyone got bloated tummy?! Not taking the painkillers so wondering if it's post surgery side effect! Lots of popping and almost 'bubbling' feeling in my boobies, mainly left one? And very sore incision on lefty too. Good job I've got my checkup on Monday.

HI there. IN answer to the bloated tummy... lots of girls have mentioned it, I I certainly had it. the ga makes you constipated... take senna or something. It took me nearly a week before going to the loo was sregular again. Regarding soreness... I am still sore now and the wound still feels tight on one side. When I don't have a sports bra on it feels really heavy like it will come out of the wound. AGain I am sure that's normal! HAppy healing! x

I have a swollen tummy too, I started taking senokot the last 2 days so I wouldn't get constipated. Im eating lots of fruit and veg and dried fruits too to help my digestion. I managed to go once so far! My left incision is pretty sore at times, I'm mostly just on ibuprofen and paracetamol and only taking the codeine if I really need it.

I'm sorry to hear your still sore sweetcarol. I think I'm going to get bored of being so helpless pretty quickly. This is the longest I've ever been out of action! I love my new boobs thoug and I don't regret it for a second! Hope you stop feeling sore soon so you can get back on your horse!! Xxx

Post by Lauren87 22nd September 2011, 9:14 am

Hi aliwoo,

Congratulations on your BA!

Main thing is just don't over do it. I felt great and pain free and from about day 5 started doing dishes, making tea, making beds, ironing etc etc and from day 12 was on my own with 3 kids one is 11 months old so back to lifting and pushing pram 5 miles a day. Not good! While I still felt ok and very capable of doing all this I got seroma ( a build up of fluid ) and because I've neem doing touch my muscle has been pushing my right implant up do it's all above the nipple and I'm now nit allowed to use my right arm for up to 8 weeks! And have to keep breast band on for just as long and go for weekly appointments. All this while still trying yo look after kids.

So u guess what I'm trying to say is please please just take it easy in the first place I wish I had.

Lauren, oh god, wise words. Will definitely try and remain conservative in what ever I'm doing! Recent shoulder surgery is still curtailing my activities so hopefully all the recovery will run alongside each other. Thanks for the advice. X

Hi ladies! Vibrating, slushy and bubbly boobie noises and feelings are totally normal too :) Also, I had a bout a fortnight where when I breathed or laughed one implant literally felt like it was separating from my rib cage, like it was flopping forward or something. I think it was Jen86 who said that's totally normal and (of course :) ) she was right. The feeling has gone.

Not sure if everyone experiences that but if it wasn't for this site I would have been quite scared by it

BKOZ when did the weird noises start? I'm only 3 days in, I haven't noticed anything like that yet. It's so weird knowing there's so many changes still to happen, the op is such a small part of final result! Xxx

THat's what I am afraid of Lauren.... doing that bit too much and something happening like getting seroma. Each day I do a bit more then wish I hadn't! I tthought by now, almost 3 weeks that I wouldn't still be so sore. So it will go can on It's own will it. THe seroma?

About four or five days in love, it was when I would go to pick something up or move suddenly - then - sloosh! It was quite funny, it doesn't hurt and it has to be quiet in the room for you to notice.

It is amazing how much everyone goes through after operation and how very little we are actually told by our surgeons about what to expect.

I imagine they would get inundated with minor questions all the time - a simple after-care sheet would suffice, just to say "this will happen" etc.

I guess they don't want people being too confident after a surgery though - the opposite of not knowing can be 'thinking' we know too much and not acting quickly enough when urgency is required, like if we were to have haematoma or something more serious occur.

I am sure there are legitimate reasons as to why they do what they do!
