Wish I'd known about the 'no arms bum-shuffle' to get out of bed after my BA! I'd have done a few sit up's to help the stomach muscles a bit in preparation! I also second the gurlgy noises and the morning boob.

Wish I have Known about the size your tummy grows to in a matter of hours...before op size 8........2 hours later post op size 12 and the very same jeans you went to the hospital in no longer fit!!!!( I left the hospital with them undone) ......was not happy and it took a good few weeks for the pot belly to go back to normal:shock:

I wish someone would have told me more about "surgery regret". It sure is playing mind games with me. Two to three days after surgery all I did was cry and that I wanted my body to be back the way it was before. It has gotten better, but I still have moments of regret.
Also, knowing about all of the healing process and living through it is two totally dfferent things.

I think you notice hematoma via bruising? Not sure though

Re: Before I had my BA I wish somebody had told me....
Well, a hematoma is a bruise, but what the doctor is talking about, you'll pull something and I'm pretty sure it swells up immediately to like twice its size. It's hot, red, you really can't miss it.
But regular bruises are normal.
that's what my PS said....

Cant always see bruising with a haematoma.
Usually sore, swollen & can be hot to touch.

Re: Before I had my BA I wish somebody had told me....
Thank you all for the well wishes. I'm feeling better about the surgery. I think most of it was due to the lack of sleep. I was only getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night. But once I was able to sleep on my side I was able to get more sleep and that has helped alot.

Re: Before I had my BA I wish somebody had told me....
Well i wish i had been told that although its surgery its elective surgery and you dont get as much sympathy and help because you brought it on yourself ! Unlike if you had an op coz there was something wrong with you !
Oh and also that although your husband was fine about you having a BA they can change and be a bit off after !
Xxxx

So true about the bloated belly. It's more painful than the boobs!

Loving all the posts and agreeing with them all, bloated belly's, morning boob, squelching noises, months for them to 'drop n fluff', more than one consultation, and most importantly, being able to share on this forum so that we don't panic and think it's only happening to us?! Well done ladies! X
