I can choose either overs or unders. Help!
Hey Everyone,
I had a consultation last week and was told that I could choose to go either under or over the muscle as I have a 'decent amount of tissue'.
For those of you who also had a choice, which placement did you choose and why?
I am hoping that one day I may be able to have another baby, but this is far from guaranteed so who knows, it could just be a dream. However, would pregnancy affect one placement more than the other?
I love the look of squishy cleavages but may not get that with unders?
I don't want any obvious ridges so maybe shouldn't go for overs?
Argh! I almost wish I didn't have a choice!
Any replies greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies xxxx

hey hun i'm having overs recovery seems easier and my surgeon also prefers this method!! from what i've read there is a chance either way u may or may not be able to breast feed. I have one child and at the min am not thinking about more but am guessing i'll find out when or if i do have another if i can feed naturally if not i figure its a small price to pay for a cracking pair of boobies lol xx

I would look through the ask James section he seems to suggest if you can have overs if you can have them. There is info on pregnancy and implants and the risks of double bubble etc. I can post links later when I am home.

i had a choice and i have chosen unders. reason for that was: i have 2 friends with unders and many with overs and personally i don't like the look of overs, cos they look saggy to me, maybe it's because that my friends have big implants (500cc and bigger)????

I asked my surgeon during consultation and he told me I had enough
breast tissue to cover the implants and 'good skin'? So was a perfect
candidate for overs. He also said unders would give me double bubble.
nikitaw86 - double bubble is where the implant is held under the muscle
and sits quite high on your chest - then any existing breast tissue
hangs underneath creating a double-bubble effect...
Hope that explains it.

Yes, unders can be better if you have very little breast tissue to start with - it reduces the chance of being able to make out the edges of the implant once they're in. Double bubble can still happen with overs tho - if there is a lot of loose breast tissue. In this case your surgeon will advise whether you need an uplift too, or just implants.

yeah i don't have a loose breast tissue (or so my surgeon said) i'm getting overs for definate as that my surgeon and my preference just hoping i have enough that there won't be ripplin I could handle a little but a lot would be devastating!! there's so many things you don't realise until u actually start researching nice to know all outcomes so u can prepare and even knowing the scary stuff am still ridiculously exvited so i know its the right choice. thanks minxie for ur help x

Re: I can choose either overs or unders. Help!
Hey Opal-eyes, I had the choice of placement also, I'd had overs previously, and liked the shape they gave me so, I gave it some thought....
I had a very quick recovery with overs so that was a plus, with overs I'd heard had a longer recovery.
I went through all the risks for both unders and overs and there was pretty much as many risks for both.
I'm all for natural and both unders and overs will give a very natural effect, but, overs have more natural movement than unders and I liked the cleavage I had before with overs.
Overs and unders will sag naturally with the implants over the years. But with unders, the muscle holds the implant back , the implant stays put as the skin ages over it, the skin will still sag and age over the implant, I don't know what that's gonna look like, but overs still ticked all my boxes as that sags along with the skin keeping a natural look , so I decided overs were for me. Like you I had good breast tissue to have either, so it was overs for me xx

i suppose a lot of the time its the surgeons preference same with sizes my surgeon like s BIG so i had to rain him in on what size i went lol!! but from what i've read crease and overs are the easiest recovery and there never gonna look 100% natural but then i like the perky fake look and everyones gonna know there fake as unfortunately there's no way there growing overnight without surgery :( lol

Re: I can choose either overs or unders. Help!
Thanks everyone xx
Cookie, thank you in particular! That was perfectly described and has really made me think that overs are the way I want to go now.
I too like the cleavage and soft squishy look and don't mind them sagging with me over time!
People say moving house is one of the most stressful things you can go through. I've moved house 3 times in 2 years and had major spinal surgery during that time and had to learn to walk again - none of those caused me as much stress or confusion as a BA!! Although this is wonderfully exciting stress - it's driving me slightly insane!!! LOL

Re: I can choose either overs or unders. Help!
Hahahaha yeah I know what u mean.. But the problem is that my c section scar never goes away so if I go crease I will hv two scars for good.. So I was thinking the nipple color is more or less the same.. I just hope I make the right choice about over or under.. I like more of the natural look... But still would love them perky

yeah i suppose u could see it that way but i figure how often do u walk around with ur arms in the air and no top on for a crease scar to show once ur dropped and fluffed lol
you know whats right for u, but i get that after a csection scar u wanna avoid more scaring luckily I had a natural birth with my little man but my one whole stretch mark i got annoys me everyday its just a personal thing xx
