I'll be staying in overnight my PS said he doesn't do day surgery, he always leaves the drains in overnight as it apparently decreases the risk of infection. I haven't spoken to any PS that offer day surgery so not sure what their views are on this. x

It's totally your choice LM.

Some ladies are happier to have a day case, your surgeon would definately NOT allow anybody to be released from the hospital should they believe to were any more at risk of infection those staying. If your surgeon had reson to believe you were at risk of ANYTHING then you would stay in hospital for as ling as your surgeon felt needed free of charge.

I had no choice in staying or not as I have an auto immune disorder so it was decidered for me I was to be an overnighter. I'm pretty much a wimp anyway so I still would have chosen to spend the night in hospital. I suffered a bleed in hospital so it was decided as the bleed was continuous and blood pressure low that I were to stay for a second night.

If you're the kind of girl who had no problem with going home, there is absolutely no reast whatsoever why you shouldn't if that's the way you want to LM.

Its a simple choice of whether or not you 'want' to go home or not hun, nothing more to it. xx

hey hun I had the choice of goin home or staying chose to stay in as i feel more comfortable knowing i'm around nurses and people who know what i'm going through and also then don't have to go home with my drains in me!! just do what u feels best suppose we'll have plenty of time to look at the walls in our houses may as well make the most of the hospitals walls first lol xxxxx
