Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
Hi,
Just after advice. I am unhappy with my boob job in the sense that one boob looks bigger than the other as two different sizes placed in. The one I am happy with is 365cc. The smaller one at 325cc also has a smaller circumference, so overall appears smaller and less full than the other.
The reason the surgeon did this was to make my appearance more symmetrical, as my spien is slighlty twisted - so the 'smaller boob' seems in line with the other now - at the expense of it actually being 'smaller when naked and not filling a bra.
At 6 week review he understood and said to wait 6 more weeks and come back. if he thinks it is worthwhile he would do it again so I would be happy. I am going to see him Thursday.
I just want them the same size. I won't wear tight tops as I am conscious of the slight difference. it bothers me - not giving me the confidence. However, the thought of the op, recovery, etc. I am single mum with three kids. As I had unders, I stayed with my parents for 3 weeks last time. can I put everyone through all this for me - am i being picky?
it's a lot of money to spend when not 100% happy. Obviosuly it is majorly better than what I had!!!
Any advice from thsoe who have had or considering reops would be great.
Thanks
:)

I would think if you are not happy you should be pushing for the surgeon to correct his mistake for free. But yes hun, I would go for it, you pay a lot of money and want to be happy. None of us have perfectly symetrical boobs but if you can notice a big difference in them then yes do it.
Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
I agree with misf1 sweetheart. If the assymmetry is so noticeable its making you unhappy then push for the re-op. I'm sure this surgey was to help you gain confidence hun and if your not getting that from your surgery then it's right something should be done to help you with that.
If it helps you to know, I had a 50cc reduction in implants second time around and it's made a big difference to how my breasts look, mainly to the width which frontways give the illusion of size making mine look much smaller, so in answer to your title, yes babe, even 40ccs will make a difference to your size.
Think of it this way hun, if the difference in size were of no consequence, you can bet your bottom dollor the manufacturer wouldn't waste their time making them! xx

Thanks for your replies! I went trying dresses on for Friday night out, and all I kept looking at was the 'smaller' one. I think my mind may be made up already, but I'll see how the consultation goes on Thursday.

Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
Went to see Mr Alvi today. he is happy to put a larger size in to give more cleavage to match the other. Free of charge. No quibbles. very good service from Sthetic clinic in Liverpool. Feels like they really care and understood my issue.
I have 365cc in left boob. the 325cc in right boob will be increased to 365cc. he said he'll take 345cc in theatre too. I will have more projection on the right as my spine is slightly twisted, but I would have more equally sized boobs and fit in bra cups the same. he obviously explained never be perfect and there is a tradeoff in my case.
Even might be able to do as a day case, which would be easier for me with the kids. I have mentally decided to do it, just need to book date!!!
Arghhhhhhhh can't believe I am actually going through this again!!!! I am assured the recovery won't be as long as last time.

Wonderful news Jasmine and fantastic you had no problems getting a re-op to repair the problem xx
Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
Revisional surgery booked for this Wed 24th!! Three months after my first op. I'm already getting nervous and having second thoughts. Such a big step for such marginal change to size. Am I too picky?
To add to the argument for the change, the smaller one has a lot of rippling when I bend over. None in the other. I was assuming a larger implant would fill the rippling out. Am I just making this up in my head? Any ideas how rippling occurs? I have not much original breast tissue that's why I had unders. Rippling to side by armpit.

Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
Wow how great that you have a surgeon who is so helpful. I have one that is larger than the other even though I had both the same size implants put in and they have been like that since day one and as they are healing the differnce is getting worse. I have sent pics off to my Dr and he agrees that they are uneven and also said that I had very little asymerty prior to my BA to make such a difference. So I am having to wait to see what happens but hope that if I have to have a re op that it goes as well as yours has so far.
Reading your story gives me faith that there are still good people out there willing to do the right thing.
Good luck for the 24th!

Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
Hi not posted for a while!
Decided to go ahead with the reop for 40cc just in one boob, so now both 365cc partial unders. Only week post op. Recovery so much easier. Happy so far with results. Small amount of swelling, no bruising. Look forward to looking more equal in bra once all settled. First op was may last year. Reop delayed as originally going to have it at end of summer.
very happy with Sthetix reoperating at no charge. Mr Alvi is a perfectionist. Renacres was nice hospital too.

Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
jasmine05 Thanks so much for putting your update on.
Im in a similar position at just four months too. Im having a small pocket revision on 21st to correct my lefty. Its positioned higher than the other and is less full at the bottom because of this, so it makes them look a bit odd.
Im really glad you have said that recovery has been easier for you 2nd time around. Am having another surgery on 21st which is why its been decided to do the revision then too so I can avoid another GA in future. I didnt want to be in pain cos of the revision too, PS said it would be easier but its nice to hear from someone who has actually had it done.
I definately dont think you were being too picky. I worried that I was too, as mine is also a small revision but it was really troubling me and taking the shine off my new bits cos Id look in the mirror and think they looked great in a bra but with it off I noticed the difference so much.
I know they generally make us wait and see more so I am very grateful to my PS for understanding that I wanted to fix it while having the other op.
Please keep posting with updates on how you are healing and how they are looking to you.

Re: Reop on one boob for 40cc difference?
Congratulations on the reop its fantastic you went ahead with it and you are happy with the result.
I had different sized implants as well and really notice 2 months on the difference in the size of the breasts and like Kat4 says it does take the shine of the new additions a bit.
I have raised this with my ps and he has just said I should wait for at least another 4 months as the breasts will still be going through changes. Its annoying but need to trust his judgement.
Good luck Kat4 with the reop
