Re: September Buddies!
Hi ladies
Wenna.. yes thats me and my horse... his name is 'Rascal', why he lives up to frequently!lol. I am totally dreading being off riding. My surgeon says no way until after 4 weeks, and then only taking it easy. Cant muck out either. Luckily my fella will be helping me out there, but a few days a week he will be in full livery whichs costs a fortune. I keep telling myself its going to be worth it. I have only ever not rode for more than a week when I have lost a horse and been looking for another. dont know about you but i ride usually 5/6 times a week. Rasc is going to get fat as well as me! I intend on taking him out in hand after a week or two so at least we will both be getting a walk! Its not long now and i am getting scared!! how do you feel?

Awww girls september is fast approaching! I can't believe in this time next week I will be out shopping for last minute bits that I will need and cleaning my house like a mad woman!
I have started taking my Arnica this morning as reccomended by my PS.
I am definately first on the surgery list and have my book in time of 7am - haven't told my parents of the time yet - we will have to leave at 6am to get there in time! I'm sooooo excited!

Re: September Buddies!
Hello fab ladies. So exciting the September thread is filling up....excuse the pun ! Its really really nice to be. Le to share this special adventure with you all.
Have just realised that it maybe me thats first up as am in on 1st Sept ?? Does anyone know if they have WIFI at Transform ? Then i can post from my bed that afternoon. Yippeeeeeb! have told so few people, not even my Mum so cant wIt to share it with you all.
Hi sweetcarol. Yes i am a total horse addict too. :flowers: Ride 6 days a week and not sure how i will cope without. I have two warm bloods and a hilarious Tina Turner lookalike shetland for my daughter. Have someone coming in to muck out but hope to be able to put hay and feed in mornings. Is it seriously 4 weeks before we can ride !?And keep having laughable thoughts of having to wear sports bra from now on 4 schooling/competing. Do you think we will get black eyes otherwise ?! Its my one big worry recovery wise !
Hope everyone well and enjoying the bank hols
Much love to you all
Wenna xx

Re: September Buddies!
HI wenna. Yes its def sports bras for a long time for us whilst riding. I have brought 6 so far in different sizes so hopefully I will have a few to choose from.
My surgeon said there are 2 main times for hemorrhage and mules such complications... that is around 3days and around 3 weeks. I had thought I would be mucking out by then but he has scared me off that idea because that when people overdo it cause they feel totally ok but aren't really. I am going to try to be good and wait 4 weeks which will kill me but its got to be worth it in the long run x

Re: September Buddies!
Hey sweetcarol well i had better be careful too eh. Crikey will def wait 4 weeks then. Is it all back to normal routines by then? Mind you i only do "stressage" and not fab jumping like you do by looks of your pic ! Much respect ! I did pop my older mare over a fence last week to give her something else to think about. It felt huge to me...i was so proud i even got a tape measure out...it came to all of 80cms ! And all this seeing the stride thing makes my brain hurt! So i stick to the dancing ! I just cant imagine having to wear a sports bra to ride in. Getting v v nervous now...eeeek !

Re: September Buddies!
HI wenna. MY surgeon said I still should take it very easy will the riding after getting back on at 4 weeks. Did not know a fall can easily rupture an implant. Luckily (sort of) I have had to retire from jumping and dressage due to rascal getting arthritis. SO at least I am a little bit safer now. IT'S one of tIe reasons I have waited for my ba cause of his training and losing fitness. DOesn't matter that much now. I intend to walk him out in hand after a week and just hope he doesn't try anything stupid! I don't know about you but I kees getting waves of nervous sickness.
AS I was in August buddies before my op was cancelled I feel like I have heard all their stories which helps no end. US early September girls need to keep posting step by step to help everyone else that is later. PUt it this way. oties than typing on a keyboard what else is going to keep us entertained while we recover lol. Daytime tv certainly won't lol.
