Ironing, sleeping on your back etc
Hi girls, when did you start ironing? i vaguely remember that after my op the doc told me no ironing for 4 weeks, although being heavily under GA i may have dreamt about it:)
i have loads and loads of ironing to do, i just did a shirt, felt a bit uncomfortable but nothing hurt so i gather i can do bit by bit? when did you start ironing?
also, i am still sleeping with 4 pillows, quite elevated, and my back is killing me, im back to work tomorrow and will be needing my sleeps, do you think i can take a few pillows out, just leave one or two?
i think thats all the questions for now, god this forum is good

Re: Ironing, sleeping on your back etc
I am so glad u have posted this! I am 4 days post op and have 4 children under 7 and I am desperate to get on with all my housework!!!! So far I have done some washing and brushed up a few times and touch wood all is ok! I too though really want to get some serious sleep! I tried to take a few pillows away last night and it didn't feel right at all! I felt like my stitches were pulling and it was a whole lot harder to get back up lol!
I'm looking forward to seeing the replies from the experienced ladies of the forum! Sorry I can't help u xx

I wouldn't try ironing lieing on your back lol. But if you feel comfortable doing a couple of things then thats fine. Just dont do anything that makes you at all uncomfortable and definately no hoovering or any heavy lifting.
Re: Ironing, sleeping on your back etc
No hoovering, ironing or housework for 4 weeks? Sounds like bliss!! Shame I'll have no money left to pay for a cleaner after spending it all on my boobs!!
NewGirl - how are you finding looking after 4 kids post op? I've only got 2, but I'm wondering what I will and won't be able to do after my op and whether I need to convince the husband to take the week off with me so that he can help out?!

But if your like me i heal really quickly ..I was ironing on day 3 ... But in my life i dont have the time to rest so i have to get on with it .
My golden rule is ...if it starts to hurt stop .
Like misf1 said little at a time ... we all heal a different rates some quicker than others . xx

Oh dear, looks like a fun evening ironing for me then, will update later on my progress.
Btw, it still hurts to drive, especially reverse and 5th gear. I went to local Asda which is 5 min drive and was gonna go to car wash after, but came home instead exhausted and a bit sore.
Not sure how i will manage half hour drive to work tomorrow - wish me luck x

I also agree, take it slow and if you feel tired, take a rest.Even though this is a common surgery to have,it is still surgery and a trauma to your body.Good luck driving! It is hard to get back to the normal things in life after surgery.

Re: Ironing, sleeping on your back etc
Me again, wasnt too bad, did half of it which is good, no pain whatsoever, just got bored lol
One other thing - i just went through my wardrobe trying to pick what to wear for work tomorrow and discovered that all my size 6 tops are no good anymore, cant even button them up - awww how cool is that? size 8 tops are sexily tight, i may keep some of them, but definitely need to go shopping for some tops sometime soon. I think i am definitely size 10 top now - whoop whoop whoop :)
