Round v's Anatomicals Empty Round v's Anatomicals

Post by tracy2010 5th July 2011, 8:11 am

Hi There
I told my surgeon I wanted a really natural look but he advised me against anatomicals as he said they can move around. I have decided to go with rounds but I am worried that i will get the 'round' looking boobs and they will look fake!!
Can anybody who has had round implants put my mind at rest please?
Thanks girls xx

Yes!

Round implants give just as much of a natural appearance as anatomical do sweetheart.

When I was having my re-op I considered every option to ensure this time I put in the effort to do my own reseach and get was right for myself.

I found that if my body can take rounds and mine could, that rounds would be the better option for me. Anatomicals are by far an implant suited to very thin women with little or no breast tissue.

I'm slim and I have some breast tissue. When standing with the round implant it doesn't hold and maintain the round appearance, it falls to an anatomical shape and lays like a teardrop in your body, giving that natural slope we all want from the natural look.

You can see from my boobs in the small pic here, that my breasts have a natural slope to them.

I also found that when laying down the anatomicals hold their shape and can sometimes give the appearance of an unnatural look yet the rounds would fall into a more natural appearance.

I did a lot of research about this, so unless you're extrememly thin, then rounds will be just fine, as loong as you have a realistic size to suit your body frame, go to big and you will gain a fake look hun. xx

Ah Cookie, thanks so much, what a gr8 explanation and you have put my mind at rest completely!! I am petite but I am not really thin as I have a medium frame and I measure at a 34 back even though Im only a size 8 clothing and only 5foot 2. And Im a B cup so I do have breast tissue.
I didn't realise that anatomicals were for thinner girls.
Im not going too big so I am now happy with my decision to go for rounds and will be sticking with those!!
Thanks so much Cookie - you're an absolute star xxx

No problem chick.

Girls with a little more body fat like ourselves who are also petite (my stats were almost the exactly the same as yours pre-op) do sometimes opt for the anatomicals, but the risk of rotation really isn't worth it when you 'can' accomodate a round implant and forfiet that additional risk. When you're very thin and want implants, there's no choice for those ladies and anatomicals are the only implant to give them a natural result. xx

Thankyou Cookie :-) You're more knowledgeable and helpful than my pc lol she would never have explained it like that - and she has implants too!!
I didn't realise we shared the same before stats - are you happy with the size you chose? Im meeting with my surgeon again 3 weeks before my op to decide on size. xx

Round v's Anatomicals Empty Re: Round v's Anatomicals

I have a lovely pair of boobs if I do say so myself LOL, but... if I could afford to, in all honestly, I'd go a tad smaller hun, but that's personal preference of what I'd like from 'my perfect BA', my surgeon did advise smaller, but I panicked and requested the larger against my surgeons advice... what a fool I was...

I'd definately say to you that it's fine to look at pics, but all you're going to get from that is an indicaton of what you can expect post-op, you're never gonna get the exact same result as another woman even with the same stats and the same sized implant, this is because of YOUR bodies anatomy, you may share the same stats as me, but I might have more body fat than you, I may have more breast tissue than you, the shape my rib cage falls may differ greatly than your own, my breasts may lie very differently to your own, I could go on and on and on babe but I think you get the picture.

The best thing for you to do to enable you to get as close to what you want as possible is to find pics of the kind of size and shape you're looking for, mens mags such as Nuts and Zoo are perfect for finding boobs! They're full of them! LOL.

Sit with your surgeon and discuss in realistic terms whether or not your surgeon feels your sized frame could accomodate the look you're wanting, your surgeon works in volume (CCs) and not cup size, so once decided on the 'look' you're going for rather than the 'size' your surgeon can gain a much better indication of how much volume is needed from an implant to get you that look. Having the visual right there in front of you both leaves you both then reading from the same page and both in no doubt of the look you're wanting, leaving you both 100% confident in your choice... You should always walk away from your surgeon 'pre-op' feeling reassured sweetness. xx

Thanks Cookie. My surgeon is Mr Traynor and he can be difficult to talk to as he is straight to the point. However, I am going to make him listen to me - I like Alex Gerrard's size, think she's about a d, dd max so Im going to take photos of her in. He did advise me at my first consult not to go any bigger than 380 so that sounds about right if you're saying you wish you had gone a bit smaller - your avator looks fab tho!!! I know what you mean tho about everyone being different, I have learnt that by the many photos I have looked at and an implant on 2 girls with the same stats can look so different, it's mad!!!
I am going to put all my trust into Mr Traynor as I know he is a fantastic surgeon and I know that he prefers the natural look. My pc has had a BA and she also said she would spend some time with me and give me her opinion so that is good.
Think I have just got too much time on my hands to think about things lol, but I go on holiday on Thursday for 2 weeks so hopefully that will take my mind off boobs!!! Mind you, I'll be checking out all the girls on beech wondering if they have implants, huuummmm lol. Also got a hen doo in Ibiza at the end of August. So 22nd September will be here before I know it..... x Thanks for all your help and advice, you have been great!! x

Just bare in mind when your with your patient co-ordinator babe is that she's a sales woman, she has no medical training at all and knows as much about BAs as you or I do.

You're right to make your surgeon listen hun, this matters a lot to you and will probably be one of the most important decisions you're ever going to make in your life! Your surgeon is the ONLY person who will be able to make those final decisions with you sweetie, so I'd personally forget the patient co-ordinator and be sure I'm getting what I want from my surgeon.

Enjoy your holiday babe! Round v's Anatomicals 899188
