Is it just me? Having difficulty looking at them
hey girls,
as most of you know i had my ba on thursday, i'm starting to worry a little as since having them done i've only had a very quick look at them and i mean a very quick look.
my boyfriend said that i need to start looking at them to get used to them so yesterday i plucked up the courage for him to undo my sportsbra so i could look in the mirror, the sportsbra was half way off at the front when i started to really panic and told him to put it back on quick.
i'm sure he thinks that i'm silly after wanting them for years and then not wanting to look at them.
i really dont know why i dont want to look at them yet, is this just me or has anyone else felt like this.
x

I can imagine im going to be the same, thats the kinda thing I would do. And rightly so, waiting so long for something, counting down, it always being in your thoughts, then POW its finally done, i'll be pooing myself that I dont like them and have a massive anti climax to it all. But all im gonna do is remember that ANYTHING is better than what ive got now, plus from day one post op to a year post op they change alot so thats something to think about. I'll also think that by looking at them it might ruin them and that I should keep them strapped up!! x

Hi Zeezee.
I didn't give my boobs a proper good look until nearly 2 months PO!
They just seemed alien at first and the little peeks I'd had at them made me feel nauseous and I just wanted to wait until they were properly settled. I'm now about 3 and a half months and they've settled and half the time I forget they're even there. It's like I had them all along!

I can't really notice mine- they aren't heavy like I expected. But I mentioned that when my mom and I went to the store this morning... They already feel like part of me and I told her I keep forgetting they're even there! She said, Trust me- every guy we passed definitely noticed" LOL I'll bet they'd just die seeing y

Re: Is it just me? Having difficulty looking at them
I think you have the boobie blues, plus having new boobs is a big change and one that can take a bit of time to get used to. Some people like their boobs straight away others like me are scared of the new alien things on their chest. I had to look at mine as I had to remove the bandage and put on a sports bra, they looked and felt weird so I didn't look again for a few days. I also had boobie blues and once the GA had passed out of my system I felt better in myself, the boobie blues were gone. I stopped crying for no reason, and didn't think Oh my god what have I done anymore. I felt happier and knew the aliens on my chest would start to feel like mine eventually. I liked them then, but I was still not used to them. I liked looking at them to see if they had changed and became excited for the day they would change, but I couldn't touch them. I needed to put cream on them every day (as I was paranoid about stretchmarks) and I did it quickly every day. When I went to have the stitches removed the nurse asked me if I wanted to look at the scars I refused thinking they'd look awful. The following day I had no choice but to look as I had to have a shower (for the first time in 14 days) and had to remove the dressings they had put on the day before. Well I was terrified but I did it, and they looked great, nothing like what I expected. After that I felt great about my boobs. So in answer to your question, no not everyone likes them straight away. But you will get there. It just takes time.
