It is extremely confusing I think Natrelle Allergen is a different product from Allergen CUI, the difference being Natrelle is FDA approved, and possibly a thicker implant? The letter I received actually said 'Allergen teardrops' with no mention of the word Natrelle?!

I don't think they're more likely to split, from what I've read they are one of the most common implants used so they can't have too many problems with them.

Allergan is the brand. They make implants, botox, fillers etc.
CUI is a type of implant. It's silicone with a textured shell. It isn't FDA approved, and never will be. It was designed to be a cheaper implant with only a ten year guarantee.
Naturelle are another Allergen product, however these are a little bit more custom in design. As far as I'm aware they have a lifetime guarantee which basically means they're confident they'll never rupture. However ruptures can happen and they'll still need to be replaced after 10-20 years.
Ruptures can happen due to accidents (RTAs), heavy impact, product fault and wear and tear.

Ah thanks Roxychick... so it doesnt mean in 10 years they will break?! just the garantee, but like misf1 said b4 i think, at some point they will need to be done again, wether its 10 15 or 20 years, this is the same with all of them i guess.

Just wanted to add to the conversation, but only one specific bit, the haggling aspect I think Mr Shoaib is a BAAPS/ BAPRAS reg'd surgeon. Part of the criteria of a BAAPS/ BAPRAS surgeon is that they aren't allowed to haggle or undercut other offers. Can't remember the reason why though.

Re: £2,200 MORE for anatomical vs round?
Well his base price is undercutting pretty much all other surgeons in Scotland, it's £2,999. I was a bit skeptical at the price before I booked my consult but he has lots of good reviews. I'm not going to try to haggle, I don't feel comfortable haggling over this.
I called the Spire Murrayfield in Edinburgh to book a consult with Mr. Quaba (it's this Monday). To get a feel for pricing I asked the receptionist what the price difference would be for teardrops instead of rounds and she said that she's pretty sure that there's no price difference, the surgery will be £4,700 regardless of implant (unless I require a more complex surgery such as a lift etc), I'll have to wait for my consultation to be 100 percent sure of the price though. I'm honestly not that worried about the total cost. I've been saving for years and years. This has left me uncomfortable about it and questioning whether I should even go through with it. I'm going to wait till Monday to see what Mr. Quaba recommends. If he recommends teardrops I am probably going to go with him. If he recommends rounds I am going to think about Mr. Shoaib again. But then my dillemma is that the last correspondence I had with the clinic, they relayed the message that I can still have the rounds done but I will probably not achieve the look I'm after. Sorry I'm just going round in circles now!!!

I would suggest having three or four more consultations to see what the general consensus is.

Has anybody else heard this? If so, does anyone know if it is true and why this is?
I'm just thinking that with my problems with MyBreast etc (see my other thread) I may not be able to get a cheaper price from James privately if this is the case. Grrrrr
Re: £2,200 MORE for anatomical vs round?
I haven't heard this. Kayla, can you point us in the direction where you might have seen it?
